The main issue with chimney chases is that they are often added to the home last, so they often missing flashing, weather-resistant barriers, and sometimes the siding is nailed right to the framing. Overall job: The job wasn't cheap; the siding repair ballooned beyond my original expectations (because of water damages) but they were professional and transparent and responsive. They didn't pressure me into any work and informed me of the risks (e.g. if they uncover any rot, they won't just cover it up for liability reasons). I trusted their quality of work.

We hired SFW to replace a damaged back-door - which turned into building out a whole new back wall due to the discovery of water damage and poor craftsmanship from the original builders. Everyone was professional, communicative, educational, and worked hard to help us save money throughout the process. I was also very impressed with how clean the left the job site at the end of every work day. Looking forward to having them come out next summer to rebuild our rotting front porch.

Vastly expensive and garbage work, lied about everything including the hours worked by their "crew", double billed for services (charged twice on separate days for the same load of trash taken to the dump...). One day all they did was put two 4x4 posts in the deck, nothing else, and charged $2400+ for that. By far the worst experience I have ever had with any home repair service. Never use this company.

I hired SFW to replace a set of French doors that had been leaking rainwater into my hardwood floors. I felt a little apprehensive about their hourly billing, but knew it was fair since we couldn't see how far the damage went.
Jerry came out to take a look and eased my fears with his expertise and explanation of their door replacement and extensive waterproofing process. We had several remodeling projects we needed a contractor for.
I called SFW for a quote for a siding project and the project coordinator didn't even want to talk about ithe project until I approved/agreed to 24 pages of their rules, regulations, fees, as well as Oregon contractor board information etc he emailed me. Most of the information he sent me did not even pertain to my type of project but he expected me to approve it anyway?
The email stated that he wanted to do the work on an hourly basis with an open ended $78 per man with no notation of how many men they planned to use. Also

I am currently closing on a home and will be taking ownership tomorrow. Unfortunately, the siding has issues and some dry rot around the windows. I contacted SFW Construction to find out more about the issue and a possible repair. I was very worried about what I would hear. But the staff at SFW helped answer all my questions! SFW made me feel more informed about my project! I'm still in the process of deciding to fix the issues or reside the entire home...but I know for sure I will be calling SFW Construction either way!

SFW came out, evaluated and fixed the problem. I am relatively confident the work they did will prevent the window from leaking again.
The crew that came onsite was friendly and professional. They were conscious about cleanliness and pets as well. They cleaned the job site well after job completion.

Had some structual issues with some bedrooms. This team was prompt, great communications and follow up. They even followed through to let me know of an issue with window work performed by another company (Dabella LLC / Alside) did when they did a project 2 years ago. The crew was clean, professional and very personable. I felt the work done was thourough and i was completely informed if every step. The project was more costly than i anticipated (as happens with homeowner work) but again a lot of this was attributed to also correcting the mistakes and errors from another contracted company. I had a great experience with SFW, they sided my 5000sq ft house on a steep hill that many other companies said they didn't have the equipment to complete. I was on a time crunch to get it done before the rain hit and the crew worked diligently to complete my difficult task! They kept me in the loop the entire time and finished before the rain came. I appreciated the hard work of everyone and the end result more! The house looks great! You get what you pay for and SWF really pulled through for us. The inside gals were great to and very pleasant to speak with.

Couldn't have been more impressed with the team at SFW. From my initial call with Christian, to meeting Jeff Harrington on site for the inspection. I was in competent and extremely capable hands. Jeff pointed out things and brought so much to the table during our project, that we hadn't previously seen or been privileged to work with before.

We were nervous about not getting a concrete start date because we wanted the work done before the rains came. But Christian assured us that this is what they do all the time and they would be out within three weeks.
Two weeks later we got a surprise call asking if they could come out the next day. (yay!) Greg and Juan showed up and completed the work in two days. They were professional and answered any questions. Their intake and discussion of scope of work was very clear. The job site was left tidy at the end of the day.

Ultimately, our house did get painted and the job was adequate. However, we had multiple concerns along the way, and if SFW (or future customers) can learn from these concerns, then I feel right about voicing them. I recognize, too, how I need to better protect myself next time.
1. The written paint estimate was confusing. We went round and round, and the bid seemed to include things we did not want, while things we did want were crossed off the list. My concerns were brushed aside and SFW tried to appease me with assurances that this was merely a template.

They are great, very detailed, and they definitely do what they say they will do. They have great customer service!
I would give them '10+' (deserved). The quality of their work is the best. I have no complaints whatsoever. They make sure everything is taken care of and called me after to make sure I was happy.

Their workers are very friendly and polite. They kept me informed of their findings and their plan to repair the siding. The SFW office employees sent me an e-mail each day with labor hours and materials used, so I could track costs as the project progressed.
I am very pleased with the results and would highly recommend SFW Construction.

We originally called SFW to deal with some siding wood rot, but they identified the need to replace the patio door. They were very helpful in identifying the best replacement door and scheduling the install.
The workers were friendly and polite and were very flexible working while my wife was home, which I appreciated. The install went great and they even took the time to investigate a separate unrelated drip that happened while they were there.
Lastly, the foreman of the job even stopped by on his day off to make a final adjustment after we spotted a small gap in the door after installation
