Standard basement unit can be installed where there is enough airflow from the upper levels to allow the system to work properly. Crawl space unit has a secondary fan that brings air down in crawls spaces or basements with inadequate airflow from upper levels. Soot damage can come from many different sources. You do not need to have a fire to sustain soot damage. Your heating system, burning too many candles, cooking, and fireplaces are just a few things that can cause soot damage. If you suspect you have soot damage DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN IT YOURSELF. There is an extremely detailed process to cleaning soot properly.
Crawl spaces can be extremely toxic if not cared for properly. Most mold spores are soil based and will feed off porous building materials. Add it enough moisture and you could have a potential toxic mold hazard. The structural wood and foundation in your crawl space are 2 most important things to protect.

We have really appreciated Envirotek, particularly over this holiday season. We had water damage and mold resulting from a flood last fall (2021), and we opted to have mold levels measured in other parts of the house at the same time.. Mold measurements were high in the basement and the family too, even though no flooding had impacted those rooms. We opted to have Envirotek address all the water damage and mold issues .This was a significant project, completely not covered by insurance. We felt Envirotek's estimates were reasonable, although not the lowest, and we were extremely happy we chose

After a home inspection that revealed mold in the attic, I contacted Kevin at Envirotek to come out and make a recommendation for mitigation. He had the quote/estimate to me next day and they were able to schedule a crew to do the work the same week. They were on time, professional and clean in the area they were working. I definitely recommend Envirotek to anyone in need of mold mitigation or the need professional cleanup at a property.

I was referred to Envirotek by our home inspector when we purchased our house about a year and a half ago. During the inspection, dark mold was discovered on the rafters of our attic and it was recommended that we address it. Since we are consummate procrastinators, we waited. Recently though, we received a RISE assessment (definitely check them out if you haven't already) and had the opportunity to have our attic insulated for little to no cost. Our work was scheduled but the mold remediation was a precondition to the work. So we called Envirotek. I was able to schedule an assessment quickly
