I'm the principal designer and owner of Horizon Interior Design. I graduated from Oakland University in 1998 with a Master in Physical Therapy, and enjoyed a successful career as a therapist. I worked in home care, and found it intriguing to see the environments in which my clients lived. I grew a passion for interiors over the years, not only to make homes safer for my patients, but more comfortable and beautiful.
The beautiful thing about technology today is that we can design your entire project in three different formats for you to preview. 3D CAD Renderings: See in three dimensional views exactly what the redesign of your space will look like. Floor Plan & Drawn Renderings: We can simply sketch up how everything will be arranged - based on final furniture, space, etc., letting you see our full plan laid out for you.
Interior design, like many creative fields, doesn't have a clear-cut process that works for all clients. Just as each client's needs are different, so are the roles of the designer in the project itself. I tailor my designs around my client's project requirements, but there are some basic design processes that are standard across the board.
I had the pleasure of working with Kori and Horizon Interior Design on the sprucing up of my living room and foyer. Kori was amazing! She helped me with paint colors and window treatments. She is a wonderful listener and has the amazing ability to bring ideas to life! I can't thank her enough! I would recommend Horizon Interior Design without hesitation!

Kori helped us save our house! We had a dishwasher leak and needed to repair/remodel our kitchen. Kori helped guide us through the process and was very helpful and professional throughout. Kori offered multiple design options for our space. Every day we sit in our kitchen and are amazed how beautiful and functional it has become. We could not be happier with the decision to hire Horizon Design and would recommend to anyone thinking of renovation big or small.

I was so excited and relieved to work with Horizon Interior Design. Kori provided advice while we were making decisions during the building phase of our home, she provided designs for a sunroom (see pic), and most recently, she designed and ordered furniture for my great room. She was attentive to detail and helped me to balance "old habits" with a contemporary touch. People who come over comment on how comfortable and welcoming our home is! I'm so grateful.

I have known Kori personally and professionally for several years. I recently hired her to design the renovation of our master bathroom. She listened to my vision and went to work selecting the perfect tile combination. Her help with the paint selection was invaluable, She has a wonderful eye for design and attention to detail. Unfortunately our experience in hiring Kori did not turn out the way we had hoped and expected. We were rather disappointed in the money we spent for initial design consult and the work that was presented to us along with the 4 hours of design time that we were told was spent on our project. At the initial consult she was struggling with ideas but assured us she would have more ideas once she started working on the design. However, the initial workup/design was very disappointing and did not show anything new or original that we had not already presented to her. The follow-up consult over the phone

Kori is an AMAZING, designer! I highly recommend her. She was able to help me through the whole design process with ease, from picking colors and fabrics to furniture and art work. My family room looks absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to show it off to my family at Thanksgiving. My next project with Kori will be renovating the office, I can't wait to see the transformation!

Not only is Kori very creative, she listens to what your needs are and involves you in the decision process as much as you want to be involved. She uses an interactive program for room layout and suggests furniture/accessories based on a detailed questionnaire that you complete. It is like going to a showroom without leaving your house! On top of it all, Kori pays close attention to customer service. You’ll be in good hands with Horizon Interior Design!
