Ceramic tiles are made of natural clay minerals mixed together, glazed on one side, and then fired under extreme heat to create a strong, resilient material. You can find them in a glossy or matte finish, usually sold in half- to three-quarter-inch thick four-by-four squares, but you can also find large squares.

We purchased a new home and needed to do something about the old, dirty carpet throughout the house. I called Sam and he listened to what I needed and provided me with affordable, but adequate options. When we met with him at his showroom, he had the samples handy and was able to provide estimated delivery dates for the various colors. Floors and Designs did an incredible job updating the flooring in our guest bedroom, hallway, and laundry room. Sam was knowledgeable and his recommendations were on-point. He helped us find solutions that look great, fit in our budget, and will last a lifetime.
Additionally, when there was a minor problem during the install, Sam was extremely responsive and his team quickly corrected the issue to make sure we got exactly what we wanted.

The proposal was turned around quickly at a good price and a crew scheduled for install a week later. When we purchased our home in 2018, we knew that we would eventually want to replace the carpet in the living room, dining room, and the main office to match the hardwood floors already in the kitchen, family room, and foyer (Bruce Hardwood-Gunstock). I tried getting multiple quotes in the Centreville / Northern Virginia area, and Sam was by far the most professional. He had the best price, was the only one who came on time for our appointment, and was very responsive for the whole process.
Sam's team who came to do the job were fantastic and did a beautiful job. My house came with laminate in my main level, and I was looking to replace the ugly carpet in the basement and stairs. They were able to do the whole job in a day and it looks stunning and has elevated my house so much! The transition from the main level to the basement

We were moving into a new home, and needed new floors. Ok, we didn't need new floors, but I hated the red oak hardwood, and the tile in the kitchen. We were planning on LVT, but Sam gently convinced us to keep the hard wood, and said he would be able to install hardwood in the kitchen and foyer to match. He worked with our budget and gave us lots of good advice. He was very patient with us and quickly responded to any questions or concerns we had. The project was on schedule, and his team was prompt and very nice. I wish every home project ran this smoothly.

Floors and Designs is the only way to go. We needed to get our hardwood refinished prior to moving into our new house and had a very narrow timetable. Sam made it happen with time to spare. He came out the day I reached out, gave an estimate, and scheduled the work. His team was nothing but professional on time, well mannered, and patient. While all of this sounds great the best part was the work they did. Sam said on certain parts it was unlikely they would be able to just refinish it as I had some pretty large gaps. These guys did a phenomenal job on our white oak floors. They always showed up on time and kept us in the loop on their progress. The job started when they said it would and they finished on their projected completion date.
The crew: hard working and personable. We looked forward to seeing them every day they were at our house. They were respectful, kind, and some of the hardest workers I've ever seen. They also cleaned up as much as possible.

We needed LVP flooring installed for a rental property in a hurry and I am so happy we chose Sam for the work. We called to inquire on pricing during the July 4th holiday weekend and was able to get the free on-site estimate, pick from available flooring, secure the contract, and schedule the install in one swoop, which work was completed well ahead of time. He is ultra responsive, true to his word, and very efficient - texting even on off hours, holidays as weekends. We bought a house that had a mixture of Bruce gunstock oak hardwood, vinyl, and carpet. Due to health concerns, carpet and old school vinyl aren't good for me to have in the house as they tend to trap dust and foster mold growth. After trying out a couple of flooring companies, we went with Floors and Designs, and can I just tell you how obsessed I am with our new floors? We got gunstock oak on the top floor, with LVP in the laundry room and one of the bathrooms, finished the second floor with gunstock, and got LVP in the basement/first floor. They are all so pretty! We ended up changing our minds about replacing the flooring, but had a great experience with F&D. Samples were brought to our condo but the one I liked wasn't in stock, so I went to the business site. Lots to consider, including carpeting, and the "showroom" was clean and welcoming. Pricing was pretty average based on other estimates. We will definitely use F&D down the road.
