I am not one to complain, but we had a terrible experience with Long Island Locksmith. Have used them many times over 40+ years. The did not follow through scheduling appointments. Just showed up at our house anytime whenever the wanted to. Took 3 times to repair a simple lock. The agreed price was not honored. I would think hard and long before doing business with this company again!

The charge for labor was not made clear when I requested a home service call. Also the charge for service was not made clear. That I paid $105 for a home service call AND $100 for labor IN ADDITION TO the $25/lockset I wanted changed ... seemed excessive to me and was def unclear. I feel these charges should all be made clearer ... I was led to believe it price was $25 per lockset changed with a minimum $105.

Got run off the road by one of their trucks today while I was in the driveway of the cerebral palsy center in Roosevelt picking somebody up. The company van was driving very recklessly using the driveway as a turn around and I believe had I not gone partially up onto the sidewalk, this van would have collided with me. I immediately called the dispatcher and he gave me the run around saying, "Oh I will get right on top of who this driver is and will get back to you". Would never use this locksmith again. Went in to pick out locks for a Job that was being done. Was helped by John who seemed like a nice guy. Asked John to write down all the costs associated with the job. He neglected to write down the labor costs (I assumed it was in the lock pricing). I called after the job was done and now I had to pay an additional price for labor just to tell them I was not made aware when I was in. I spoke with a manager,Tony, who was extremely nasty, aggressive and loud as soon as I stated what happened. He never once tried to hear what I was saying, just kept saying things

Saw this company on the internet, as it was close to our new house we thought it make things alot easier getting our locks changed so we went in to see them
John seemed friendly enough and was helpful, as i had done my research already i knew what i wanted.
Told him what i want he made some suggestions that made sense, he told me he would order the parts and then i'd pay when they arrived. A few days passed and he called to say the parts should be in on the next day, ten days after i didn't hear from him so i said to my wife this guy doesn't want our business

I went to their store for a problem with my car ignition and was told it was a 10 min job but the guy behind the counter said he didn't have time to do it today. even though it was 8 am so i was told to come back at 730 the next day just to be told by a different guy to come back the next day. i gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back for a third time and guess what the first guy i spoke to said he was just to busy to do a ten minute job. i went to Top lock in levittown and was taken care of right away. I accidentally locked myself out of my apartment when I was planning to go out. So I called them and asked for help. At first, they said that for them to come out they would charge $40 and their charge for the service depends on the locks.
It took them 30 mins to come, which is reasonable. The guy came to my apartment first looked at my lock and ask for $250!!! $250!!! I am not dumb. By this price I can replace the entire door!!! At the end they lowered the price to $120 and asked me for cash. I agreed. The service

A small store on a busy strip running through Hicksville. It is, however, well stocked for keys and locks. There have always been at least two guys working behind the counter, so the lines always move when it gets busy.
It is the only locksmith in the area, and while the Benjamin Moore down the road claims to "make keys" they had about twenty keys they could do when I went in, none of which I needed. Don't waste your time there.
LI Locksmith closes early on Saturdays, so call ahead to be sure they are open.
