Atkins Tree Farm has been operating from the same location in Lakewood, Colorado since 1979. We sell a wide variety of trees at prices comparable to wholesale nurseries, both to the public and to landscape professionals. We are Denver natives and only sell trees that are well-suited to the Denver area, and are acclimated to Colorado's variable weather conditions.

Services
When you buy a tree grown in a root control bag you get over 80% of the roots. As a result, when the tree is planted it grows vigorously right away. Because the bag is full of fibrous roots, we can grow a larger tree and it will be several hundreds pounds lighter than a similar tree that is balled and burlapped.

I had a great experience purchasing 3 trees from Atkins Tree Farm. With John's expert guidance I was able to select varieties that were a good fit for our location. What I originally intended to purchase would not have been as ideal, so I appreciate John's time in looking at the sketch of our yard and answering a lot of questions. The delivery crew went above and beyond. Sean called following the delivery to share some extra tips about planting which was really nice. Great service and people!

We purchased two Red bud trees three years ago. Very young trees. The wife told me they would charge $300 to place the trees, however the husband told me when he arrived with my trees that it would be $600.
I have had to baby these trees and coax them to even stay alive. I have signed up on forums (how-to) to learn more, and now have an arborist since the owners couldn't car less about helping me. Sure there is a year warrantee. They assured me the trees would do fine. Not so much. Just learned that one of them has a fungus that is slowly killing it, and the other tree ISNT EVEN A RED BUD

Had a great experience purchasing a new pine tree for our front yard. They accommodated my schedule in December when I first visited the farm and picked a tree. Today they dug the hole and planted it for me and it looks fabulous! Everyone was super friendly and helpful and "down home". I highly recommend and will use again.

Atkins came to trim my beloved cottonwood tree 4 years ago. I enlisted their services due to the recommendation of a friend. I was horrified at how much of my tree they cut down, but they kept assuring me that this was good for the tree, and that more new growth would then occur. That never happened. And now that my beloved tree is almost dead, it has been suggested to me by another company that they never should have cut off more than 30%. It was DEFINITELY more than 30%. Now I am looking for a new house because that tree was a big calling card for owning this house. I don't know how

We had five trees planted by Atkins Tree Farm at our home, and we couldn't be happier. This is a family business that has been around a long time. The owner, John Atkins, is a great guy; it was a real pleasure to do business with him. He showed us around his big selection of trees, helped us pick out five we wanted (all different species), and then he, his son, and the rest of his crew came and planted them within the same week.

Also known as Atkins Tree Farm. We had the opportunity to have a tree replaced by Zeb and his team. The were great to work with. We dropped by their Tree Farm and picked what will be a beautiful tree that will be colorful in the fall when its leaves turn a bright red. Zeb and his team removed the old tree and when the new one was ready they came and transplanted it. The area was neat and cleaned up of both the dirt, twigs and leaves. If you have the need for trees in your yard or to have one replaced these gentlemen are awesome.
