Four generations ago, My Grandfather and Great Grandfather started a small woodworking business that would steer many generations of our family to come. I am one of those generations. My name is Brian Kliss and I've spent nearly my entire life in the woodworking business. I take great pride in a diverse background of training and apprenticeship.
Licensed in 1994 as a general contractor we have continued to provide our best work to everyone of our clients big and small. We provide commercial and residential cabinets for San Luis Obispo County and other counties along the Highway 101 corridor. Although we have occasionally traveled as far north as San Francisco and as far south as the Hollywood Hills.
Simply put, we go where people demand the best. We have enjoyed many repeat clients over the years. Whether it's a second vacation home or moving on and building new. We have done entertainment centers for clients 15-20 years ago when projection TV's were hot and recently we have gone back to those same jobs and modified them for a new flat widescreen tv while maintaining a clean custom look.

I was very impressed with Brian's skill level, detailed knowledge, and creativity. He custom built several cabinets within our staircase and also built an fantastic armoire that has become the showcase of our room. I would recommend his services to anyone without hesitation. Prepare to be impressed!
One of the biggest crimes I see in todays housing is the installation of low end prefab cabinets that come in a cardboard box. The life cycle of those types of cabinets is 8-10 years tops! Cabinets are not a disposable item. A kitchen is far too big of an investment for a "Do over". At Kliss Cabinets we hand build cabinets to last for generations.

Brian saved our kitchen (and bank account) after a near-total flood loss. We were dealing with an insurance claim on top of everything else, and Brian was so helpful with his detailed bids and explanation of costs. We knew his workmanship was top notch from previous projects, such as a total master bath remodel and a built-in closet, so we knew he was the one to call when we suddenly needed all new kitchen cabinets.

We were very pleased with Brian! I found his company via Yelp and reached out for an estimate. Within hours I heard back and scheduled a time for him to come out. Even though he was booked out, he worked us into his schedule and made it easy to install a modern, clean kitchenette in our studio space with no hassle. He had a good selection of materials to choose from and also arranged the countertop install. We will definitely use him again for any custom cabinetry job!

I had a number of referrals for wood work but at the end of the day they fell through and Brian was there to save the day. This was a small job, but Brian fit it in, since I was willing to transport the work to him. He finished it on time as promised. Somehow I managed to mess up his work and he quickly resolved the issue so that the job was still done on time and looked better than ever. Brian is fantastic and I will call him again, for sure!

5 stars in all aspects: quality, craftsmanship, artistry, integrity, flexibility and professionalism. Brian is also an excellent listener and extremely patient. I wanted a piece of modern and functional furniture that would take up minimal floor space but with maximal storage area. I wanted a broom closet, coat closet, shoe storage and miscellaneous item storage in one piece of furniture. Brian patiently offered suggestions that would fulfill all my wishes without busting my budget.
