Soapstone (steatite) is a naturally occurring metamorphic rock made up of mineral deposits created by nature and quarried from the earth. The main mineral components in soapstone include talc, chlorite, dolomite and magnesite, giving a warm, soft feeling to the touch. When cut, it oxidizes from light grey to dark charcoal in color.
A light coat of Mineral Oil or Soapstone Enhancer makes its color and subtle flowing veins even more dramatic. DurabilityPractically indestructible, Soapstone is an excellent alternative natural stone to use in place of granite or marble. Soapstone is naturally antibacterial, will not burn or stain and requires very little maintenance.
Acids and alkalis will not etch soapstone as they will other stones. Justin and Suzi were awesome! They constructed and installed the beautiful cabinets for our kitchen remodel. The cooking utensil drawers are fabulous and keep everything well organized. The pullout pantry shelves make items easily accessible. And, the once dead space corner cabinet now has a clever pivoting shelving mechanism that pulls out even the deep corner items to within reach. I love my new kitchen! I would highly recommend to them anyone.

We met Justin and Suzi when our appliances sales rep recommended them - and we needed custom panels for our newly-purchased refrigerator and freezer. Of course we checked with several other providers - all of whom were too busy or slow to respond. Not Justin and Suzi - they were responsive and delivered our beautiful new custom panels when they promised and in perfect condition. We were so pleased we asked them to do additional work on paneling in our living room and while it took a little while to get the colors matching - they were extremely professional and we are quite happy with the results

Suzi and Justin designed and built all the cabinets in our home (kitchen, bathrooms, closets, mudroom etc.). They are perfectionists and worked with us to find exactly what we wanted. Even when I asked for the 20th stain sample (sorry Justin!), they delivered ahead of time and without ever making me feel bad about it! All the details are incredible and I'm convinced that Justin can find a solution to every design challenge.

Justin and Suzi have an amazing eye for detail in every job they do. Their custom designs for pull out pantries, cookie sheet holders, trash pull outs and so much more makes the kitchen all come together and looking fabulous!!! They not only do all the design and drawings they also only work on one job at a time so you are never left hanging and your job gets done on time! They make EVERYTHING with no subbing out any parts or doors. With over 25 years experience I highly recommend them!!

We had Golden State renovate a bathroom a few months ago and we love it! They were very easy to work with during the design process and had helpful ideas, for instance Justin saw that the new toilet was smaller than the old and asked if we wanted a bigger vanity. That few inches made a huge difference because his custom made vanity is so much more space efficient
than the old one. The vanity is beautiful with solid walnut drawer fronts, face frame and sides. The quality is impressive. I would definitely use them again.
