What I am stating is exactly what happened. Facts, no opinions.
1) Took 2 weeks for an estimate. OK no problem.
2) The salesman (R) did not leave a copy of the estimate. I wanted to make the payment and sign the contract quickly to lock it all in to prevent Covid price increases and supply chain issues and I told him so. The work was not going to be done for several months.
3) About 10 days later, he emailed me with the estimate. It's higher than his verbal one. He said it's a "price increase".
However, he had done a whole lot of calculating and re-calculating while

The sales staff and front desk team at Action Fence are fantastic. Tom came out to do a quote for me and made sure to explain the process, what needed to be done, and why in a way I could understand. The front desk staff, Jenny in particular, always super nice whenever I call in.
The fence is high quality, and I'm excited to be apart of what I consider the "Action Fence" club.

Terrible communication, punctuality and overall experience. All for helping the local and small businesses and definitely understanding of time and availability during the pandemic. However these guys will no show and no call time after time. When it came time to putting up the fence they did about half, left all the tools and materials scattered over my yard and driveway with no word on a return date or when the project would be finished. Action Fence Rocks!!! The day after a big wind storm, 3 of my fence sections went down. I had to rope it myself On a Sunday until Action was open Monday am. They sent Butch out within hours, gave me a written proposal the very next day. There was a sense of urgency as I have a dog that loves to run. Butch knew this and made me a priority even though there was a backlog due to the wind storms that took my fence down. They came today and finished in the dark. I have always referred Action to my clients and friends and now I have witnessed true professionalism with my own two eyes!

I called to set up an appointment to get an estimate. I had to know how many feet I wanted to have installed before she would even make an appointment. If I knew all the answers why call to get an estimate? After telling me they would not be interested unless it was over 100 feet she informed me that smaller jobs would be considered after July.
Informed her I would contact someone that would give me an estimate. Wasted phone call!!

We had a vinyl fence installed by action fence when this so called maintenance free product came out. The fence was overpriced garbage. The cost around 30000 dollars. Its a large fence and they failed to install the correct number of gates and were very rude about it. THEY LEFT IT AND NEVER PUT UP THIRD GATE. The first winter the lattice at top of fence started breaking because its cheap and thin. Froze and snapped. The fence started separating on sides from the cold. The material is cheap for the cost. From the moment I called, the customer service was excellent. The appointment was set up and Thomas came when he said he would and talk me through the whole process. To my surprise, my fence was put in three weeks early, in nearly one day. They were respectful, did an excellent job. The craftsmanship is outstanding, and the communication was spot-on. I would recommend them to anyone. And if anyone wants to see their work you can come to my yard because I am very proud of the work they did. Again I can't say enough how much Thomas did exactly as he promised with no hidden surprises.

I really regret going with Action Fence over the competition... I should have done more research before booking them. I could go on-and-on but at the end of the day, they're completely unprofessional, non-responsive and do very subpar work for the price. We paid over $4,500 bucks for what I would describe as a basic fence - no frills or custom requests and even building a basic fence was a challenge for these jokers... the guys had to come back 3-4 times to get it right. We had a great experience with Action Fence. Our fence is a horizontal fence with a design on it (we knew what we wanted and helped design it). They worked with us to ensure it was exactly what we wanted and they were able to put the fence up quickly and on time. We get so many compliments on our new fence! I came back to Action Fence this year to complete a privacy fence for my yard because they put up a fence for me about four years ago and did a great job. This time, it was a nightmare. Terry came out and quoted me and told me it would be about 3-4 weeks After more than a month, my fence had not begun after I gave my deposit of 1/3 of the fence cost. When I had a conversation with Terry to discuss how I wanted my fence on one side, he talked down to me and said "let me be the fence guy," to which I responded, that I am the customer. Don't bother doing an online quote if you live in Rochester. Our neighbor used them last fall and she recommended them. I called and the receptionist told me to use their online form then a sales rep would contact us. I did this and we got a call back from them that they do not service Rochester. Well that would have been nice to know when I went to their web site. Disappointing they weren't forthcoming with that when I called and identified where I live.
