Dig & Demo is a San Francisco Bay Area based business focusing on residential demolition, excavation, and swimming pool removal. The owner, Chris Burd along with Chief of Operations John Hartung, take a hands on approach to all of the projects. Dig & Demo brings a new level of professionalism to the Demolition and General Engineering field.
Total demolitions involving the removal of a structure & its foundation to make way for new construction. We have facilitated many contractors and homeowners on their quest for a new house where an old house stood. Selective demolition of existing structures for renovations and remodeling can be interior or exterior by nature.
Access: The more access to your pool the better the price due to equipment used for demolition. Size of Swimming Pool: Generally the larger your pool is the more costly it could be to remove. City in which you reside: Permit costs and engineering requirements vary from city to city. Type of removal: Partial, full, collapse, or engineered are the typical types of pool removal.
Hundreds of people every year make the decision to get rid of their pool. We can make the process quick and painless. We handle everything from permits, to inspections, demolition, backfill, compaction, and final grade. Just sit back and watch your headaches disappear. Removing your swimming pool is our specialty.
We use excavators for most jobs that involve digging trenches, excavating hillsides, stump removal, foundations, and any large hole in the ground such as swimming pools, hottubs, ponds, septic systems, etc. Our Bobcat Service is best for jobs such as concrete demolition, bringing down dirt levels to your specification, grading, sod removal, lot clearing.

Dig and Demo recently removed my swimming pool that was leaking and was never used. I cannot say enough good things about the job they did. I interviewed multiple companies and chose Dig and Demo. They took exceptional care of the landscaping which I was concerned with. They even propped up some redwood tree branches rather then cutting them in order to drive their equipment to pool area. They double covered the driveway and ground all the way to the pool area. The clean up was very good as well. Dealing with the crew was a pleasure . friendly, and courteous and knowledgeable. Highly, highly recommend

These guys are true pros. I can't imagine going anywhere else to remove a pool. Duwayne came out for the bid which was thorough. Michelle was the master coordinator who kept on top of things. When it came to the work, Miguel and Jaime came in and did an amazing job. I didn't have to worry about managing these guys at all they took charge and did everything right and kept me updated throughout. It is a really tough job that you want done right and they can do it.

Great experience and highly satisfied with Dig and Demo services from start to finish. I had a partial removal of my swimming pool, removal of all pool decking, and an extra 300 sq. feet of concrete removed from my side yard. It took 5 days for completion. DuWayne was my estimator and main contact with office support from Michelle and Christina. Good communication and follow-up all around. Miguel and Jaime were the demolition crew. They were professional, competent, and hard working, amazing how fast and efficient they operated.
Thank you for the great service.

After checking with other pool removal services we went with Dig and Demo. Excellent company to do business with. They said it would take about 5 days to remove and once the weather was conducive that is all it took. Miguel and Sean were excellent in cleaning up afterwards and putting things back in place which was a big concern for me. I wish more people were like this company to do business with. I would highly recommend this company I only have praises for them. And thank you DuWayne for your act of kindness! If I could give you 10 stars I would.

Jose and his crew did a great job on our pool removal. He was very conscientious and careful about minimizing collateral damage to our house and lawns. We had the entire patio removed with the pool and only 1 scratch on our stucco!

We just completed our pool demolition project, and are so impressed with the staff at Dig and Demo. They are competent, showed up on time, and were considerate about keeping the large equipment so it was not in the way. I was given a timeline (one week), and given updates every couple of days. I highly recommend this company!

Dig and Demo did a fantastic job removing our pool. Sean was amazing, very responsive, and kept me updated on the progress of the project from start to finish. To be honest, you would never even know that there was a major project at our house as they left our property spotless after finishing the job. The pool was filled in over the span of 5 days and is now ready for us to lay sod in our backyard. I would highly recommend Dig & Demo for a quick, yet extremely professional job.

I would give Dig & Demo ten stars if I could. Awesome work from start to finish They demolished and filled in our (aging) pool, and they did a very professional job. What impressed me most was the quality of their communication with us as we moved through each phase of the project. Sean and Miguel set proper expectations, and updated us frequently on the status of our project. They also took care to make sure the work area was cleaned up every night before they left. Plus, they are just nice guys to work with! Special shout out to Miguel who oversaw the daily activities on the job. We are

***Update: Showing our finished backyard.

We found Dig & Demo via Yelps and got our swimming pool completely removed in April. Sean and Miguel worked in our pool and they did a great job. We did fully engineering removal and we think that total cost was relatively fair for the job. Though our yard wasn't done within a week as promised since it was sprinkles for a couple of days and they had to wait for the soil to be dry but overall, we are very happy with a job well done. We're highly recommending Dig and Demo if you're looking for a contractor to work on your swimming

Dig & Demo demolished my pool and removed all the concrete in my back and side yards. I am *very* pleased. They did this for very reasonable price, and everyone I dealt with was efficient and uncommonly considerate. That includes Sean, who provided the estimate, handled change orders, and stopped by periodically to check process. Also Miguel, who did the bulk of the equipment operation. He always cleaned up at the end of the day and was unfailingly courteous. And Michelle in the office, who handled billing and gave me timely reminders. I'm in the service industry myself and I know what

We are very pleased with the pool removal service we received from the team at Dig and Demo. Sean provided our initial bid to remove our large inground pool and was very thorough about staying in contact with us to schedule the job and check on progress. We had an unexpected issue with a tree needing removal for equipment to get in, and this was handled very efficiently to our satisfaction. This company is very professional and we highly recommend them for excavation work.

We had a 15,000 gal vinyl lined pool with a surrounding wood deck that needed to be filled in. After obtaining a few bids, we decided to go with Dig & Demo for a few reasons:
*When Sean did the estimate, he was very thorough, provided information, set expectations about the whole process, and answered in a timely manner all my questions that I had thought of afterwards.
* I was concerned about the access way to our backyard since the walkway along 1 side of our house was narrow. Dig & Demo owned equipment to work in a narrow walkway. Big plus in my mind since then I wouldn't have

I highly recommend Dig and Demo for pool removal!
Experts at what they do and top notch service.

Shawn was excellent to work with, and his team followed with great service and care to our space. They are professional, keep to the schedule, and make sure everything is completed at quality work. They handle all the work for the permit, and meet with the inspectors.

I enjoyed chatting with Shawn and this team. I can't say enough great things about them or this company. Superior service and experts in the field. Doesn't get better than that :)

There were several things I liked about this company:

- They were one of the few that actually came to look at the pool before giving an estimate.

- They have various ways of removing the pool (partial or full removal, engineered or non-engineered fill, and optional removal of concrete) and they explained the pros and cons of each.

- We had some flowers next to the edge of the pool that we were sure would be smashed or damaged, but the backhoe operator managed to remove the entire concrete pool wall without touching them.

- After almost a year the dirt fill has not sunk and rain water still

I had a unique demo job (a smaller indoor pool in a commercial building) as well as the removal of an access ramp and had Dig and Demo come take a look at it. First they told me they'd get me a bid for the job by next week... next week came and they gave me a call on Friday to say they were waiting on some permit info and would get me the bid the next week, I thought it was nice that they called to say they were going to be late. Unfortunatly the next week came, and I heard nothing, called on friday and they said the bid was 'almost done'. Another week went by without hearing anything

We had Dig & Demo handle a pool removal for us. I was mostly in contact with John who was great in explaining the process and overall communication. D&D's initial bid wasn't the cheapest but they were able to price match with another vendor I was considering. We decided to go with D&D because of their good communication and follow up. They were very prompt and always got back to me quickly. They were able to secure the permits quickly and completed project within the time frame they stated.

The only thing I would reiterate to anyone considering this type of work is that

We hired D&D to remove a 25K-gallon pool that took up 85 percent of our backyard. It was an older pool from the 50s, in poor condition, and would need repair in the near future, so we decided to remove it.

I'll begin by saying Ryan truly means it when he says he wants you to be happy. He strives to do the best work possible and follows through. Many contractors get a bad reputation for promising more than they deliver. But Ryan proves he does want to leave you satisfied with your project.

I will say though no one is perfect. There were some issues, ALBEIT MINOR, but this is why we
