Calling an extraction service means there's bad news that triggered the call. I relied heavily on my fellow Yelpers and I was thoroughly impressed with the 4-man crew led by Nari Saua (Project Manager) and Kaulana Gino (Project Estimator). I appreciated the fact that they did a quick assessment and knew that my flooded carpet had endured multiple exposures to flood water and recommended that the carpet be removed and trashed to avoid further exposure to the toxic remnants floating around in the flood waters. I also don't give 5 star ratings very easily. If I had a chance in this situation, I would give it 10. I called just to get some insight on what to do next now that i had received a botched up job done by another company. Unfortunately, I've been typing up a really bad review on that company & I can't remember if I had gotten a name to give the kudos to. I'm not writing this review to bash UIR, only that prospective clientele should be informed of what may lie in store for them should they contact UIR.
I've been trying to get an accurate written estimate for three days now. Scott the field estimator, determined that the existing flooring could not be matched, and told us, after a phone call to his office, the job, full removal and replacement would be X amount of dollars.
Two days later I get the written estimate for 1/4 the amount of what he said at the meeting. Apparently the lines of communication were blurred, as the written estimate

I dealt with Scott and Darla scheduling was on point. They both was attentive, we did have a hick up on the first day with a no show, but being in business myself I know employees don't necessarily work on Monday's LOL.
As the job progressed they even came in on a Saturday to finish the work since we had a retest scheduled for Monday with expected clearance no later and Wednesday. They BOSS themselves came for the walk thru which they weren't satisfied so ended up redoing the work.
They may have costed me a bit more for the employee's lack of workmanship, but in the end

Scott from Urgent Island Restoration was awesome. I had a water leak in my building which resulted in water damage to my condo flooring. Scott was willing to come out on a holiday to assess the damage, was always available by phone to answer questions, service was quick and professional. Scott was also extremely knowledgeable about the process. In the mess of dealing with homeowners insurance and with other parties, Scott and Urgent Island were the MOST helpful in this disaster of a situation. I will definitely use them again!

I noticed a bunch of mold growing under my kitchen sink and since I don't open that cabinet too often it was pretty bad. Looks like it's been spreading for a while. I went to Yelp to find someone who could treat it and Urgent Island Restoration had good reviews. However when Scott came to inspect it, he just looked at it and said that he couldn't determine if it's mold or dirt or debris. He said there was water damage to the wood but the baseboards are dry. Said he couldn't really do anything to help me. What a waste of my time. I then called Green Home Solutions of Hawaii

Urgent Island Restorations technician Scott came out for a free estimate within 2 hours of calling. He was extremely profession and courteous and knowledgeable about all aspect of mold growth. He made me feel comfortable about moving forward with my home renovations and thankfully there was no mold.

I contacted Urgent Island when I needed sewage in a yard to be cleaned up.
I texted Darla at Urgent Island Restoration, and quickly got a reply.
Next, Scott Shizuru contacted me promptly, and went to the spill area to give me an estimate. I appreciated that. Trust me, when you have a sewage leak, you don't want it sitting around.
Scott was able to schedule the clean-up work quickly.
Scott did all the coordination with the affected party which was a big help

Finding a company or someone to trust when dealing with unfortunate water damage situation was not an easy task. I learned that lesson from the previous company that I used last year to fix a water leak.
This time I was very fortunate with Urgent Island Restoration and Scott was absolutely a godsend. Very professional, very detail and thorough in his work and in his communication throughout.

I've never updated a review on yelp so I'm typing this ahead of my first review of Urgent Island Restoration (UIR) 2017.
When you need to call for help due to a flood or suspicion of mold, it's never a good thing. The blessing is when your distress call is received by helpful, caring and professional people!
We discovered some paint on my powder room walls and ceiling that was bubbling. After scott confirmed 100% wall saturation we cut open portions of the ceiling and two walls. We found black mold. (Previous owner didn't use a licensed plumber) Horrible to

If you're reading this review, you're probably not having a good day. But I have some great news for you... Urgent Island Restoration can and will make things about as good as they can get (under the circumstances).

This is by far one of the BEST companies that my mother and I have hired. From when I first left a message on Urgent Island Restoration's voice mail due to a flooding that had occurred on Tuesday, 7/18/17 from our toilet pouring out water from the tank area, Mari in the office called me immediately after. She was very pleasant, friendly, and professional and quickly responded by getting someone to come that same day. The person that came was Scott Shizuru, the Project Superintendent. No one wants to deal with mold and water damage, so when I learned that our condo unit was significantly impacted by a leak, I was concerned. Mari handled all of my concerns, had Scott there within an hour to survey the damage and took action immediately.
