Browne Group Architects evolved from the original firm, Wangenheim-Browne Group, Inc., founded in 1978 by Larry R. Browne and Alfred P. Wangenheim in Columbus, Ohio. The firm developed a strong client base of multifamily residential developers and industrial and commercial developers in the first few years of business.
The firm's goal was to provide quality and responsive design and architectural services at an affordable price. This same goal has been the hallmark of our firm since it was founded. In 1981, Mr. Wangenheim relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, and Larry Browne bought out the interests of Mr. Wangenheim and became sole owner of Browne Group Architects.
The firm continued to work with its client base of multifamily residential and commercial owners and developed new markets in restaurants and commercial tenant finish and build-out projects. By 1990, the firm had grown to a staff of twelve with three distinct divisions: the restaurant division, the multifamily and commercial division, and the custom single family home division.
