Hello to folks looking for a good/ great locksmith:
I've contracted with Jake three times and each time he has been very responsive, responsible and reasonable. I've no reason to switch at this point and have no personal relationship with Jake or his team so there is no bias here.
Yesterday, I carelessly dropped my house key in the lockbox at the auto mechanic's place when I dropped my auto to have work today. DANG!
Now, I can see why you may not think I'm reliable ( hahaha) but I'm really truly an honest lady and I'm taking this time to write a review because

Never answers/picks up the phone. Called 5 different times on five different occasions, never answered a single call... Very unprofessional.
Re: Yes, I'm quite sure I called a multitude of times, considering I was locked out of my car, while it was running, while it was raining. Super fun.. Wait, you checked your phone records from over half a year ago?? (Because I called about 7 months ago at this stage). Unless someone else has a voicemail box setup to sound like your business, I'm sure it was the right number.
I digress, maybe it was a busy day. Not sure, but the only time I got a call back

The work Jake Bahn did was okay, but he sneakily added an emergency fee for what was clearly a non-emergency service. Naturally, when the price was so high I asked for an itemized receipt, there it was. It actually was an invoice he never had my husband sign prior to completing the work. Assuming it was an error, we requested a refund for the emergency fee only. He refused, became belligerent, got his wife on the phone (?), recorded the phone call, and threatened action if we dared to give him a negative review.

I accidentally locked myself out of the house I was watching for my neighbors on the first day (how embarrassing...) of being there. Jake responded promptly and sent a guy from York to where I was in Lancaster. He was very friendly and had me back in the home within 15 minutes! I would definitely recommend calling Jake Bahn's if you are ever in need of a locksmith, they're excellent!
