We hired Gary Duff to redesign our front yard 15 years ago and were very happy with the way everything turned out. When we decided to undertake a major backyard renovation this summer, we called him and asked him to come in to give us an estimate. We had some thoughts about how we wanted things to look, but he and his architect presented an entirely different layout, and while we were hesitant at first, we couldn't be happier that we followed their suggestions. We met Gary early in December of 2019 to review our backyard plans. We live in area with many elevations. Many contractors looked at our yard and said a pool was not possible. Not when Gary showed up. His design was impeccable. Gary was able to plan to space so we were able to make the best of the area and maintain our woodsy feel!!! It was nothing but a pleasure working with him and his and his crew. Keep up the great work.

Terrible experience.
They built an outdoor bbq Island without safety ventilation. No apology. No self accountability.
They built a fire pit with huge gaps in the cinder blocks that needed to be destroyed and rebuilt. It was their first time it seemed.
They dragged dirt from rear yard to front yard and attempted to leave the huge pile on my front lawn. During this dirt drag dirt fell into my outdoor stair well and clogged my drain well. That night it rained and a mud filled my basement finished floor. No apology or self accountability.
They laid patio brick knowing it would rain and prevent

I was hiring Gary Duff to redesign my backyard. The only restriction given to him is that design would not require the removal of any trees. I paid him $3000 for the drawings. When I mapped the drawings out in the backyard two large trees were right in the middle of the design. He never answered any of my emails and never returned a dime of the $3000.

Worked with Gary Duff Designs on a backyard project last fall after damage from Superstorm Sandy devastated our yard. We couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. Gary was easily available by phone or email and came to the job daily to check on progress and work out any issues. His crew was professional and clean. Gary was very easy to work with and willingly and readily made changes when necessary. This past winter was so brutal and he promptly replaced specimens that did not survive. We highly recommend working with Gary Duff Designs.
