Called and scheduled an appointment to clean and inspect my 70-year-old wood burning fireplace. Lee (the technician) came out and my roommate was working from home, so I did not meet him there. After using the fire place the entire house smelled terrible and the smell is still there almost 10 days later. Lee decided to disregard my instructions of inspecting and cleaning and according to my roommate spent less than 10 minutes and just inspected the fireplace. When i scheduled the service i explained the fireplace is 70 years old and my grandparents never cleaned it. Lees comments "Fireplace appears

did not show up I had to leave my work in downtown to meet them in hoover they did not show up then the guy called after I came back to downtown said he'll be there in 30 min went back to meet him never showed up called him did not answer called the office did not answer. very upset

I can’t leave 0 stars.
I had what I would call a serious event take place. It placed my wife in a horrible situation at our home when 2 technicians were there. And she was alone.
After this ‘event’ (and I was out of town for work that day), I called and spoke to an owner. She said she would be calling me back after she spoke to all parties involved.
I never received a phone call. But 5 days later I did receive a credit card transaction, that paid them in full.
This tells me that they deem the behavior, demonstrated by a technician, acceptable.
I’m giving them until the end of the week

Mad Hatter did a great job for us. I called one day and they came out the next day. The tech communicated with me the morning of the appointment and he was friendly and on time. He did a great job of cleaning out the chimney and explaining how to prevent problems from happening in the future. We will definitely use their services again and highly recommend them!!

I had a great experience with them performing a chimney sweep and chimney inspection on our new home. Technician was very knowledgeable and helpful in clearing out the old mortar clogging up my damper hinge which hasn't been closed since built in 1969. I will use them again for future chimney sweeps.
