Pete, you're the best! You have a great eye for color and your work is impeccable. I wish all private contractors had the same high standards. Excellent ratings for first impression, promptness, clean, workmanship and absolutely would use your service again. 1960 or 61, Mrs Hedges, my kindergarten teacher gave us paint brushes and coffee cans (yes coffee came in cans then) filled with water.

We got to "paint" the outside of a wooden storage shed in the play ground. Those were my first memories of painting and what fun it was. Painted a little in middle school (it was called "junior high" in those days), and also some in high school. Attention to detail, not great in those days. Had a summer painting business with 2 friends in Gunnison, CO after my 2nd year at CU Boulder.

Still a lot to learn. Went to work for Sherwin-Williams in 1978 and began a real education in the world of paint. Moved to Madison in 1993 and started Madison Paper Works (all paperhanging), then changed the name to Madison Brush Works, Inc once we started growing.

No, then another no, then at the third house a YES! He was an older man. I was 28 at the time. Everybody seemed old. We negotiated the job which was to paint the trim on his one story ranch house for $300. He asked if I'd sand everything first. When I told him I didn't have a sander, he said I could borrow his.
Madison Brush Works is a full service painting company specializing in occupied residential and commercial repainting. We know what it takes to be clean, careful and considerate while working in or outside of your busy home or office. Scope of work: Floors and furnishings will be protected with clean drop cloths or plastic.
Wallpaper patterns and themes change in popularity like dress lengths and lapel widths. But there is a distinctive beauty, clarity, and richness that no other finish can achieve. For these reasons (and others), wallpaper will always have a place. In the late 1980's and all of the 1990's, the majority of my work was in wallpaper, and happily so.
1. Do nothing and let your deck weather. It will take on a gray barn wood or driftwood look. I have a customer who is a world renowned furniture maker and artist who insists this is the best course of action. His deck is made from an exotic hard wood and doesn't absorb deck stain anyway. Who am I to argue?
When working at my older home, Pete Curtis exhibited the knowledge, skill and care that others might reserve for only new, million dollar properties. I can't think of anything Pete could improve upon. His promptness, consideration and thorough excellent job performance were all above our expectations.
