Fortunately, we live in sunny Sarasota which helps keep our pools naturally warm. This doesn't mean the water is warm enough all year-round though. According to the Florida Solar Energy Centre, a caged pool will stay 80F or above from the end of May to mid-September, just 107 days. An uncaged pool will stay 80 or above for 144 days.
As such, it is prudent to review actions to take with your pool prior to a large storm's arrival. Here is our list of suggested actions, developed with the assistance of the Florida Swimming Pool Association. It is not recommended to put patio furniture in the pool. Heavy items can damage the pool's surface, cause rust spots and the water's chemistry can hurt the furniture.
Pool water evaporation is a natural process. The amount of evaporation in an outdoor pool or spa is based on the weather. During the dry weather normally experienced in the Florida Fall & Winter, your pool or hot tub may lose about a quarter-inch of water each day. Humidity plays a role in evaporation.

The liquid chlorine used by the pool service industry is twice as strong as the bleach you use for cleaning and laundry. Pool chlorine has the additional property of strong anti-microbial activity so it can kill germs. Two forms of chlorine are commonly used in pool service. Liquid chlorine, stored in the yellow jugs, is primarily used in the cooler months when pool use and chlorine demand is low.

We have weekly service and Ted is the best! He is punctual and whenever I have a question or need help with something, he takes care of it right away! We really appreciate him!
Plus, whenever we need equipment maintenance, everyone in the office has been very helpful and get us taken care of quickly as possible. Sometimes even just talking us through it over the phone. Best decision we made for our pool life!

Raised the agreed upon price of monthly service by $15 through mail, didn't even bother with a phone call. Upon the news, I canceled service. The last service, which I already paid for, part of my chlorine system was broken by the technician. Instead of offering to fix what they broke, they decided the better option is to leave my pool pump off for three days and charge me $85 for a simple repair later in the week(no thanks, you broke it through obvious missuse, but I'll fix it myself for $5 and 10minutes). Too much of a coincidence that this damage was done after I canceled service.

They (Leslie) constantly communicated to me exactly how and when it was going to happen. Called after the install late afternoon on a Friday to follow up and ensure we were satisfied. We had a little hiccup, Leslie tried to walk me through it. She was unable to do so but immediately got the Service Manager (Brian) on the phone to try and talk me through it. We were able to get it to turn on but we weren’t comfortable with the procedure so Leslie and Brian placed us on the schedule for first thing Monday morning to make it right.

I called and spoke with Nicole about getting an estimate for weekly pool cleaning. She was so friendly, helpful, and set up the appointment for the following Monday. They sent someone out to look at our pool and give us an estimate I told him yes and he immediately went to his truck and came right back and started treating it. Our chemicals were off due to lack of treatment. A technician has been out every day this week to make sure the chemicals are right. I have never seen my pool this clean and blue. Impressed is an understatement. My only problem is that I should of called sooner! Thank you

Starting with Nicole in the office—I was treated with care and respect. Adam met with me and spent ALOT of time explaining how the repair and installation would work. All my questions were answered. He was focused, kind, and had a good sense of humor to boot:) Justin performed the installation and it was supreme! He was careful, meticulous, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was functioning perfectly. These guys know their trade! Our realtor recommended On-Time Pool Service when we purchased our Sarasota home from out of state. I asked them to come out and take a look, give us the cost to get our pool in swimming condition for our arrival & also price for monthly service. We arrived 3 days after their “cleaning”, there was a note from the pool stating they had serviced the pool. The pool looked green but we thought maybe it was a reflection or the color of the pebble tech. A few days later, I was still concerned about the pools color & the fact that there was a significant amount of algae in the hot tub grout. I called

We had been using a pool store that also had a pool cleaning service to clean our pool. If the pool tech was sick or otherwise not available, we never knew when or even if our pool would get cleaned that week as they had poor or no backup for him. We go away for weeks at a time and we were always concerned that our pool was not being taken care of.
We switched to On-Time a few months ago. The pool has never looked better. The pool tech arrives promptly on the day he's supposed to and, on the very rare occasion that he can't be there, another tech shows up that day for him. We are paying On-time
