Mountain Surfaces is a locally owned and operated retail floor covering business located in the beautiful Gunnison Valley. John Hendry, a Colorado native, spent many years in Denver, Colorado as a tile industry specialist. In 2000, he returned to his college town of Gunnison to pursue his dream of owning his own floor covering business and enjoy small town living with his wife and three boys.

Whether it be technical concerns or color and style considerations, we are here to offer our expertise. We have worked in all realms of residential and commercial design and can point you in the right direction to get the most suitable product for your needs.
Mountain Surfaces carries an extensive selection of tile, carpet, wood, cork, vinyl products and more. Our showroom displays an abundance of beautiful options to choose from. We have a plethora of samples that you are welcome to borrow to coordinate with your other design elements. Tile is made up of various durable substances that are available in different colors, styles and textures for a custom design.
I hired Mountain Surfaces to install tile on a fireplace wall and heated tile floor. The installer named Carter came to my house on time and thoroughly explained all the steps he was going to do, and had great ideas that I did not consider. He was knowledgeable, clean, polite, and was very good at his trade.
