Milling allows you to only remove the ugly top surface to lay down a fresh thinner top coat, but the millings are recycleable! The milling process saves a ton of time, trucking costs and of course. Deziel Paving specializes in residential paving for new construction. Your builder typically will only scrape off some topsoil and throw down a two inch coating of asphalt in order to sell the house. It looks good at the closing but is will not last as cracks will form, ice will heave, and the driveway will fail.
The first thing is to be aware! If someone knocks on your door saying that they have a load of asphalt left over from a paving job down the street, and they offer to pave your driveway for a steep discount if you pay cash, shut the door right away! Even if they do have the asphalt, it is probably not amount that you need, it will be cold and won't lay down correctly.
