A husband, father, and grandfather, Cal has been in the construction and remodeling industry since 1991. He started his working career as a property manager of multi-unit dwellings in Maryland. In that position, he was responsible for hiring and managing contractors and maintenance staff. He developed a passion for remodeling and decided to start his own hardwood and tile flooring business.

Her extensive network of subcontractors has been able to help us with all aspects of our remodeling projects. For example, we tried on our own to go directly to businesses for work/quotes and were met with, “no, not possible,” or “that will be custom and very expensive,” and when we let Maria take the lead she was able to find us multiple quotes for windows and skylights specifically, and all for less than what we were able to find on our own.

We purchased a condo in Laguna Woods and needed new flooring. a friend who lived in Laguna Woods referred us to Project Build. e had a challenging project too, they need to match a curve in the existing tile with the new flooring. Maria and her teams did such a fantastic job. We were so please we hired her team to redo all the flooring and paint our house before putting it on the market. We sold the house in 1 day and at over the asking price, which would not have been possible without Project Build doig their magic. I highly recommend Project Build!!

Looking for someone we can trust to remodel all our bathrooms was daunting. My husband and I reached out to friends who have remodeled their homes and that is how we met Maria. Working with Maria has been fantastic. This is a challenging thing to say in the construction industry when there are constant delays and mishaps. We faced a TON of delays in the process of having to remodel our kitchen due to a major slab leak. Maria and her team did an an awesome job remodeling our entire house. Over the course of the 18-month project we modernized all of our bathrooms and the kitchen, put in new floors and windows, upgraded the electric and plumbing, made structural changes inside and out, painted the entire home, and repaired many small and large issues that had developed in our 30+ year old house. Maria is quite simply the best. She was our contractor for a complete home remodel and the results are wonderful. Heard horror stories from friends about unreliable and contractors taking advantage of homeowners. Well this was never the case when we used Project Build Construction. We interviewed 3 contractors to do our master bath remodel and we felt most comfortable with Maria the owner. She is not only knowledgeable but more importantly, she is honest. We weren't blindsided with additional costs. But of course, we added work requirements which she promptly wrote additional invoices for.

Nope. Nope. Nope. Maria came over to give me an estimate and went through the entire scope of the job. The price was $750. Then, she proceeded to put the job off week after week and then a month or so later can finally "fit us in". Finally, the "big day" arrives and I am ready to have the job completed. She brings some painters by who after reviewing the scope of the work, say that they need more time to get the job done so she tells me the job will be "$500 more than she originally bid". No apology and very defensive when I ask her why she gives a bid, in writing

Project build did a wonderful job on our master bathroom shower. We have used Calvin and Maria of Project Build Construction to remodel our home. We wanted to create a more open space and a bigger kitchen. The first time we met them, we already felt comfortable. They listened to our needs and offered great suggestions. After talking with two other contractors we decided to go with our gut feeling. And we were right. Maria helped us a lot in selecting cabinets, countertop, fixtures and paint colors. It was a very pleasant experience with them. I had my bathtub completely remodeled (ie: replace bathtub, install new fixtures/plumbing, wall tiles, etc) with Maria and Calvin. Like practically all contractors you find, they subcontract out. But unlike others, they consistently came back to check in regularly and make sure the work is done correctly and up to standards. Communication was excellent. Their price was comparable to other quotes I received. I am extremely satisfied with my bathtub and highly recommend Maria and Calvin for your next project.

I'm happy to write that everything ended up as I had hoped. The quote on a 150sq feet of tile flooring install was on the lower end of about 4 different quotes. Unlike every other contractor, Cal was ready to start work right away while I was getting a 4 week window from everyone else. Its a big reason I went with calmar to begin with.
His guys showed up on time, moved the appliances, did the floor demo and installed the tile all by around 4 pm. Then as a favor, came back the same day around 7 pm to grout everything which saved me from having to go into work late the next day. The whole thing
