Northern Illinois Fence was called out to fix an automatic gate for the DeKalb County Government. The tech's worked an extensive amount of time in the frigid temperatures to ensure the gate was fixed properly. There was a great amount communication before and after the job was done. Contacted them for an estimate on a new fence install and was told they were two weeks behind. Understandable due to COVID. Two weeks later, I had someone come out and take measurements. I was told I would have an estimate in 48 hours. A week later, I had not received an estimate so I reached out. I was told "Let me check on the status." No follow up. Five days later I asked again about the estimate and again was told "Let me check on the status." After two more days of waiting with no follow up and now a month has passed since initially contacting them, I have moved on to another company.

We got our cedar fence done 2 years ago and it looks like it’s 10 years old. I’ve reached out to the company 3 times and sent the photos they requested showing the warped wood all over our fence and cannot get a response. Nails are popped out all over and the quality of the wood is terrible, every panel has an issue. We got a quote from another company to do the repairs and ultimately decided that the best route is to just replace the fence. Very disappointed in the follow up and lack of guarantee of their work, I would not recommend this company.

Had my fence installed by them, because my neighbor used them. Notice the gate didn't line up right. So it never locked. Contacted them and they couldn't find any paperwork on my fence install. Not surprised. I did pay cash. They wouldn't even send anyone to look at it. Wanted pictures sent to them. I was never contacted by them about the gate.

I'll start with a positive: at the end of the day, I like the way our fence looks and it seems well built.
HOWEVER, even though I called to order the work well in advance and was assured multiple times that it would be complete by the time we moved into our house (over a month later), it wasn't even started until the day that we moved into our house. I understand that unforeseen issues can delay a project, but to not even start it? Come on.
We had also agreed in the estimating/quoting process that we would have gothic style pickets instead of their standard dog-ear style at no additional cost

AVOID NORTHERN ILLINOIS FENCE! They built my wood fence in 2010. Have had problems starting 3-4 years out with both gates. Had to take them off and reset them. Now only 7 years out, two posts have rotted out and strong winds blew them over the other day. So I call them and tell them that you built our fence 7 years ago and I need an estimate. Instead of saying, oh we will come out and give you a free estimate and might even cut a break since we built it and it has only been 7 years, nope...they say there is a $750 minimum charge and they need to send me a form to fill out even though I am on the
