In the early 1950's we moved to Lake Bluff, Illinois, the present location of our corporate headquarters. Peter Baker & Son Company specializes in the production and installation of Bituminous Asphalt Materials for both public and private markets.
We work for many public agencies including The Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, IDOT, various counties (Lake, McHenry, Cook, Kane, DeKalb, and Boone), numerous villages and townships. We also have work in the private market as well, constructing parking lots, bike paths and roadways.

Founded in 1915 by Peter Baker and his son Arthur Baker Sr. as a roofing business, the company is currently under the control of 4th generation brothers Art and Rob Baker. With asphalt production facilities located in Lake Bluff, Lakemoor, Marengo and North Chicago, Illinois we are able to service all of Northeastern Illinois including Lake, McHenry, Cook, DeKalb, Kane, DeKalb and Boone Counties.
With four Asphalt plant locations in Northern Illinois, Peter Baker & Son Co. services Lake, McHenry, Boone, Dekalb, Northern Cook and Northern Kane Counties. We provide our services for Commercial, Industrial, State, County and Municipal agencies. Along with state of the art equipment Peter Baker & Son employs highly experienced project managers.

Dump Truck from this company was driving incredibly aggressive. Literally swung his whole truck at me. So, I stopped at their office to report the truck. Instead of helping me they basically didn't care, and said it wasn't worth my time. 26,000 lbs truck driving aggressively is completely unacceptable. Just completely disappointed in this lake bluff office and drivers.

Do not do business with this company they are very unprofessional. They performed work on a road and my wife hit a huge pothole left on the road. They refuse to pay the claim or even work with us on getting this issue resolved. The man actually "sighed" and said whatever when I asked for information about the claim, then when I asked him to not speak rudely to me I was hung up on. He then refused to take my call.
