A Move Ahead Movers is a small family based moving company. I've been in the moving industry since high school and let me tell you, I've heard my fair share of horror stories when it comes to moving. I've also worked for a lot of companies over the years and I've seen a lot of practices that I didn't agree with.
Hybrid Moving is when you rent a truck/trailer/container and hire our movers solely to load/unload it. Since you are just paying for our labor and not our truck and equipment; this method of moving dramatically reduces the cost of your move, especially when you are moving long distance! You cannot just load your furniture into a moving truck and expect everything to arrive at your destination without dents, dings or scratches.
Use the right size boxes. Put heavy items, like books, in small boxes; light items, like linens and pillows, in bigger ones. Large boxes packed with heavy items are a common complaint of professional movers. They not only make the job harder but also have a better chance of breaking. Label each box with the room it's destined for and a description of its contents.

They farmed the job out due a licensing issue and we were never told. We were called by the owner the morning of the move abs told the fellas would be there shortly. It took 2 hours to arrive - they never made us aware of whom I actually had in our home and if truly licensed or what! Most unprofessional way to do business - I was gravely ill at the time of the move - so we had to leave our home a few hours before requested turn over keys to realtor - that's when all havoc occurred.
They stole approx $1200 in cash from us and some Jewelry too.

BEST. MOVERS. EVER. Also, just really good people who made a difficult experience as good as it could possibly be! Due to the quick sale of our 3200 sf home, we had only 3 weeks to plan a complicated move that would put half of our belongings into storage and the other half into a three-story townhouse. With no time to hire a traditional full-service moving company, we booked two rental trucks and two moving teams -- one on each end -- and planned to drive the four hours between old and new cities ourselves. To find moving crews, we did lots of research but counted on reviews to give us the assurance

Horrible. Miserable. Useless. Please don't trust your move to these clowns. I should've trusted my gut when they were slow to communicate a few days out from the move.
They called me the day before to confirm, left a VM- I called back within an hour and again twice more that day (left messages each time) to try and get someone to verbally confirm. No answer and no call backs.
The day of comes and I call again first thing to try and confirm a 1pm start time- same story. No answer and no return of my voicemail.
Only after I complained to Hire a Helper did Tony (owner?) call me and

I called thus morning and they confirmed 12:00, received a call at 1:00 and was told that they were 17 minutes away. received another call at 1:30 telling me they went to the wrong place and they were on their way. I called several times between 1:30 to 6:00 pm and no answer and no returned calls. at 6:00 pm I get a cancellation. No one bothered to call. I lost an entire day. Now I have a truck full of furniture with no tools or equipment to move into my new place.
