Wapsie Pines Nursery and Greenhouse is located at 5708 W. Cedar-Wapsi Road, just north of Cedar Falls. We are open from late April through mid-October. Stop by to see our annuals, vegetables, perennials, shrubs, trees, bagged mulch and potting mix, and lots of outdoor decor and gift items. We are a proud participant in the CFU Plant-a-Tree program and have more than 20 species of large balled and burlapped trees.
There is no need to drag hoses around when we can install a simple and effective irrigation system. The irrigation systems are programmed by our technicians and are monitored remotely through Hydrawise, the wi-fi irrigation control system that's controlled from an Android or Apple device! Watering requirements change based on daily weather conditions and our irrigation systems can change with the weather.
We design and do landscape installation for both commercial and residential spaces and have served Northeast Iowa since 2002. Our award winning Landscape Designers make the difference! So sad. I really wanted to do business with them. In 2019, I asked for a design and quote for a job first thing the following spring. I never got it after having met with the designer and repeatedly following up. Again, I called in Spring of 2020 and met with the designer again and was promised a plan within two weeks. Weeks rolled into months and I never got a plan. I spent my money elsewhere. Despite being ready to forgive the first mistake and keep moving along.

Never return calls
Yes, you have received calls from me, just have never returned them. Last was Mid April this year, left a message I was looking for some landscaping and ongoing maintenance. Tried to call you last season as well, about the same, never heard back. Before that, was about five years ago, was looking to buy some trees from you.

Autumn Dodd and the staff at Wapsie Pines designed and planted a beautiful array of native Iowa plants and wildflowers for us last year. The service was first class and the work was performed on time and without a hitch. A few of the plantings did not survive the winter and we were contacted in early spring to make sure that new replacement plants were substituted under the warranty. Great job!!

It's pretty hard to find a good landscaper these days, but when I asked Wapsie Pines to do my work all that changed. I like the personal care that Autumn Dodd provides when she visits our house. I like the fact she used computer aided drafting to provide a full layout of the proposed landscape. The workers she sent worked diligently over several days to revitalize the view of our front lawn. I give Wapsie Pines five stars for their great work and will definitely have them back in the future.

We used Wapsie for design and installation of a brick patio, sitting wall, pergola and grill space. The design they came up with was great. It took into account the need to direct water from the run off of the neighbors yard away from our house and gave us a beautiful outdoor space. Everyone that has seen our patio has commented how beautiful it is. It is unique and very functional. Any concerns or issues we had were addressed. We will have them work up a design for our front yard when we are ready to re-do that area.

On April 20th 2016 we were called by Danny and told that he would be stopping by sometime soon to look at our yard to give us a quote for the landscaping project we were hoping to get done this summer. It is now 4 months later and we have yet to be called back. I will not be contacting this company in the future with any future needs.

We recently contacted Wapsie Pines to mow our yard on a SMALL lot that we own. We had previously used their services and we're happy with the results. We were given a quote of $225 for mowing because we were… told that due to the height of the grass a bush hog would be required. Since that was not a standard piece of equipment, they would have to trailer the equipment to the location and the high cost would be due to transporting this special equipment. The price seemed very high, but we were willing to pay this because we live out of state and needed the service to be provided. We were

After thinking we found our new lawn and landscape care company I was sorely mistaken. Last years services were nothing but disappointing.
Main problem: they became busier than they could handle. Everything started to go wrong at the beginning of last spring. We had them come out to start up our irrigation system. They were hard to book. Didn't end up coming until June. Then parts on the irrigation valves had to be replaced even though they replaced them the previous spring. I'll explain more about the irrigation in a little bit.
We booked them for all our lawn fertilization and weed

Excellent job on the construction of our patio. The Silver Creek Bluestone Slate with the Chilton/Eden limestone retaining walls and steps look fabulous. The crew from Wapsie Pines Lawn Care and Landscaping… provided us with a great project. It will be used extensively. In fact I'm going to head out there with my cup of coffee as soon as I post this.
