Over the years I've been blessed to find an interest in many different areas of design. And over time, I've found one common thread in all of my ventures: how to help others find their own personal expression and how to be creative. Having landed a coveted position at California Closets (CC), leaders in premium and luxury space-management, I established a twelve-year long foundation, centered around design-organization, spatial planning and project administration.
I ended this amazing career as the Design & Sales Manager, overseeing the entire team for the DC Metro area: all design-training, project reviews, product ordering, and acted as the CAD and Product Specialist for the entire franchise.
With a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, and with years of learning the ins-and-outs of the trade (from customer-interface, to design+manufacturing +installation), I opened my part-time, interior design business, DuVal Design LLC, in the summer of 2011.I began by working on a few projects here-and there, while still managing the sales growth of CC.

DuVal has been instrumental in helping my husband and I get to a point where two clashing styles/tastes can come together and live (beautifully) in harmony under the same roof.
Whether it was our full blown renovations, picking out tiles, cabinets, furniture, accessories, etc., his thoughtful recommendations, professionalism and interior design expertise allowed us to relax and enjoy the process vs. being stressed out and confused. We knew what we wanted...kind of...but didn't know how to make it happen. Well that's when DuVal came in...
