After 20 years in the design industry with over 10 years working in commercial construction, our visionary, Paula was initially inspired to "Do It Right" in 2011, and SMARTT Interior Construction was born.
Bringing DIRTT in before you start building might sound backward. But we can help you find efficiencies for your core and shell. We can talk about things like best practices for acoustical privacy and how we can maximize design features. Plus, not only can we help with walls, we can talk about floors, ceilings and networks.
We're changing the way we design because we're changing the way we build. ICE works in 2D, 3D and allows us to use virtual reality (ICEreality) to show you your space before you commit allowing a refining process not possible without it. Plan-view drawings don't always give us the best full pictures, and requesting renderings after can cause delays.
All off-site or prefab construction is handy for gaining cost certainty. However, conventional off-site construction can sometimes forget about what is going on back at the building site. Not DIRTT. When you build with SMARTT, the components built in the DIRTT factories are based on measurements taken just days before they arrive.
After your SMARTT project, plumbing, electrical, A/V and networks are integrated into the architecture. Which is nice and neat. But they're always accessible to the right people. DIRTT Walls look and perform like permanent walls, until your IT or facilities teams need to get inside. Then a special tool pops off the wall tile to deal with the culprit in the cavity.
