The Philipp Manufacturing Company has been manufacturing custom hollow metal doors, frames, and related products of a fire retardant nature for the construction industry since 1922. In recent years our products have been used most extensively in schools, hospitals, laboratories, churches, industrial, municipal, and government buildings.
We have been able to meet the custom design and specification requirements of those specialized projects, with regards to security and/or electronic requirements; as well as those with particular aesthetic demands. We carry a comprehensive range of Underwriters Laboratory Inc. Classified Fire Doors and Listed Fire Door Frame Labels, and strive to maintain the latest testing procedures.

Shop drawings listing individual openings with detailed elevations and sections can be furnished as required.

Services
The company specialized in fire retardant products, including tinclad and kalamein doors. The company survived the Great Depression of 1929 -1939; with Mr. Philipp advising his customers "he would take any and all projects." Philipp's had a small set back in 1960 when a fire caused some damage to its original building.
Steel Type: Fabricated from commercial quality; cold rolled steel conforming to ASTM A 1008/A 1008M, hot-rolled pickled and oiled (HRPO) conforming to ASTM A 1011/A 1011M, or zinc coated galvanneal steel conforming to ASTM A 653/A 653M Coating Designation A40 (ZF120) or A60 (ZF180). Corner Joints: Fabricate with contact edges closed tight.
Steel Type: Fabricated from commercial quality; cold rolled steel conforming to ASTM A 1008/A 1008M, hot-rolled pickled and oiled (HRPO) conforming to ASTM A 1011/A 1011M, or zinc coated galvanneal steel conforming to ASTM A 653/A 653M Coating Designation A40 (ZF120) or A60 (ZF180). Continuously Welded: Face sheets joined at vertical edge extending the full height of the door, finished smooth with no visible seam.
