When it comes to using stone for countertops, a common issue is the maintenance and the cost. However, what most people don't factor in is how often wooden or man-made material tables and counters need to be replaced and maintained. With granite, marble and quartz, these materials endure years of wear and tear (with proper sealing and care) that other materials just won't endure.
Since marble reflects light with a dainty hue, it is commonly used in bathrooms, floors, and fireplaces. As it is slightly more delicate than granite, not many kitchens have marble counters, though marble countertops are increasing in popularity. Although marble is more delicate than granite it is still a great investment when cared for properly.
Sheets of quartz are man-made and generally about 90% stone and other materials. Since quartz is man-made many different patterns and colors that are not easily obtained by natural stone are available. Recently in advances in the manufacturing process of creating quartz manufactures are able to mix in the coloring all the way through the stone to provide a much more natural look.

Urban Countertops provides coverage for materials, installations and creation of our stone products for 3 years. The products that are covered must be in the original installation location, regardless of homeowner. If any defects are found, we will send a specialist to either repair, replace, or reinstall the defective product with an identical or equal product.

I had such a wonderful experience with this small business and can't possibly think higher of this operation. Hanna helped me out when I arrived in the store and kept constant contact. They were extremely competitive on pricing without any negotiating. They also were able to offer discounts for remnants/partial pieces in stock. They did a great job installing, too. The best experience we've had with a contractor. Aaron, Ray, and the team were extremely responsive, price was the lowest amongst the quotes we sourced, the selection and quality of the stone was great, and they worked with us on our compressed timeline in order to get our condo listed quickly. They had great suggestions to deal with logistical and design issues unique to our kitchen. Installation was quick and very hands off for us. We couldn't be happier with Urban Countertops and will certainly use them for all future projects on other properties.

Highly recommended. Aaron was extremely professional, helpful, and patience throughout the whole process. From selection, recommendation, to install, every step of the way he met and exceed our expectations.
We had a granite backsplash done to match our countertop and our contractor gave urban counter top the wrong measurements so our exhaust hood range had a minor fitment issue. Not only did Aaron and his team came back out right away to address it, it was done at no charge to us.

Beautiful install of counters, backsplash, bar area and bathrooms. We've used Urban Countertops 3 times at our house and will use again. Great service, attention to detail, cleanup after install. They even book-matched the stone (so it appears to flow from the counter to the wall). Showroom is helpful too -- large samples of the neutral white / grey colors we like.

I hired them to fix chips/cracks in my kitchen countertops and reseal. The two men fixed the four cracks I pointed out, and even fixed a couple that I didn’t mention. The sealant makes the surface better than new.
They were very careful around all my appliances, and cleaned up after themselves.
They had me look it over before they left to make sure I was happy.
They did a wonderful job and I would definitely hire them again.

My husband and I had been looking for quartz countertops for a while and couldn't seem to find a design that we liked at a good price point. We checked out Urban Countertops' website and liked what we saw. I emailed them directly asking for a quote and received a prompt reply from Aaron. He was very patient and answered all of my questions. They were also very accommodating to my husband and I when we decided to stop in without an appointment right before closing for a sample.

Aaron and the team at Urban Countertops made our kitchen & bathroom renovation so seamless! We had our project paused for a few months because of COVID, but we were able to pick things back up once they resumed operations. Pricing was competitive and very fair, and Aaron was very patient and helpful with our decision making process and didn't pressure us at any time. Installation was soo quick too once we finally made a decision on what we wanted.

Doing a whole home remodel during an pandemic has been stressful. Businesses closed...options very limited. My countertops were the least of my worries after contacting Aaron via email from Urban Countertops. He provided me samples...very prompt email replies. Urban Countertops just finished installing quartz in our remodeled kitchen. They promptly measured the new cabinets and returned with custom countertops in just a few days. Recently I needed to find a small countertop for a built in cabinet, 12"X30". I called around to several places who weren't really interested in a small job. I called Aaron and right away tgey treated as if I was having an entire kitchen or bath done. Aaron walked me thru all the samples, provided suggestions and recommendations. Had no problem working within my budget. And after all of that he turned the project around i less than 48 hours. I will certainly come back for any countertop work I have done in the future. We had a great experience with Urban Countertops. After visiting their showroom and selecting the material we wanted, they came out to our condo to do the measurements. They were always on time, if not early,and called in advance to let us know of their arrival. We had also ordered a new sink so they took it with them to ensure everything fitted properly.
Price is competitive and the turnaround was quick - about 5-7 days from beginning of process to installation. The countertop was installed in one day, and probably would have taken just a few hours if we had not run into an issue with the waterfall

I wanted to share my experience so far in the process of replacing countertops with Urban Countertops. I live in a far northern suburb and on a fluke, someone at a tile store recommended Urban Countertops to me. The said a customer of theirs used Urban and found them to be the most reasonable, so I thought I would give them a call.
I have not yet completed the work, but the customer service has been terrific! Hanna and Aaron have been so on top of contacting me, and requesting quotes from stone vendors and replying back quickly to me with pricing. I think the efforts they are making are worth writing

I had a great experience with Urban Countertops--every step was easy. Their showroom has plenty of options, and Aaron greeted us and was informative without being a pushy salesperson, which I appreciated. We were thrilled with the price quote for our quartz countertops.

We received our countertops from this business in December, 2017. In November of 2018, a spice jar fell from the the first shelf of our counters and chipped the stone.
In talking with Aaron at Urban Countertops, he informed me that they don't guarantee the stone as the chip was not a "defect in the stone itself." I guess when he sells the stone as "strong, durable, tough, etc" he means it's strong, durable and tough...in the showroom? But don't expect it to withstand a jar of cinnamon falling approx 16 inches and hitting it. It's not strong enough to deal

This was a wonderful surprise. I bought some cabinets where they recommended this company. I was delighted. First the prices are beyond competitive; second they have a wonderful selection, and they are in Chicago no need to go to the suburbs; third they are quick, both to measure and to install; fourth the installation was flawless. My counter-tops look amazing. I highly recommend this company. They do not have fancy equipment; for my very complicated counter-top with lots of corners, the measurement guy made a paper cutout on site. I was somehow concerned as other countertops I have installed
