Paul LoCicero is sent from Italy to California by Fiat to work as one of their first automotive technician in the United States. Jack shares his father's knack for innovation and designs the first all wood French Sliding Patio Door in the industry. Since there was no lock specifically designed for such a door, Paul decides to apply his mechanical skills to engineering & inventing one himself!.
We have had a wonderful experience with FPL Door Locks. They have always been attentive to finding things we need. Mortises into wood interlock to keep Multi Slide or Lift & Slide panels together to minimize air and water penetration under severe conditions. FPL's Middle Lock hardware is installed where 2 multi slide or lift and slide panels bypass each other. It is designed to mortise into the wood interlock. For sliding or lift and slide doors up to 10' tall, we recommend 2 Middle Locks.
FPL's American Style Cylinder has a tail piece that protrudes from the cylinder to engage with tubular latches or American Style Mortise Mechanisms (see 'Compatibility' tab). It easily integrates into our cylinder housing for Swing Door Trim Plates, or the cylinder housing on our Sliding Door Handles, providing security and peace of mind for the homeowner.
