Owners Mugo and Talin Tersakyan opened Mum's Place on 17th Street in Pacific Grove with a modest 700-square-foot showroom. We've been buying furniture from Mugo for the past 12-13 yrs and consider him a friend, in fact 90% of the furniture in both my homes I bought from him. He's always fair and he and his staff will go out of their way to make sure you get what you want. Everyone has an off day, but I think there's more to the negative reviews than we know ;), be interesting to hear both sides???

Great store. The employees are great at matching and design. I couldn't have picked out more beautiful furniture myself. Amazing staff and amazing quality furniture. They sell top quality, name brand pieces and I get the benefit of supporting a local business by shopping there. Order times are always quick and their delivery guys are great and take extra care when delivering furniture.

Update we buy almost all of our furniture from mums The owner and all his employees are fantastic they're polite they know design and if they don't have it on their floor they can find what you're looking for have to say best furniture place in Monterey county thanks to the team at mums. also just bought all of our furniture and he is going to deliver it to our house in San Luis Obispo that shows you how committed he is to making everybody happy. kr

I purchased two Stressless chairs from Mum's place. These chairs were a bit on the more expensive side from what I have purchased before. Our initial impression was that this was going to be a good experience. My family has been coming to this store for many years.
We put down an initial deposit to get these chairs which took the better part of 6 weeks to come in. We were expecting that. What we didn't expect was that only 1 chair came in.... I asked them what happened with only one chair when we paid for two... and they couldn't give me a straight answer. They did allow

A friend recommended Mum's Place after moving into a new apartment and I couldn't have asked for a better shopping experience. I really didn't know exactly what style I was going for, but with the help of the staff, I was able to find everything I needed in one trip. The floor was organized making it easy to navigate and imagine how it would look in my new home. I never knew furniture shopping could be so fun! Prices were great and setting up delivery was easy. I will for sure be back next time I am in need of new furniture.

Go to SC41 for Stressless Ekornes furniture.....or any amazing furniture.
I'm officially done dealing with Mum's.
I just can't make myself drive there ONE MORE time to pick up pieces they didn't give me the first time, correct the situation because they gave me the wrong thing, or to pick up furniture because they forgot to include my $9000 order on the delivery truck. I had to leave work early to pick items up.
I think I'm at three receipts now. First two because for some reason my Stressless furniture order was split in two (no reason, we listed it all together

We had looked several places for furniture that pleased both my husband and I and it wasn't until we found Mum's that we were able to actually invest our funds in a beautiful coffee table and three side tables (with custom measurements). Mum's does not have your standard, cookie-cutter designs that you find at the popular furniture stores. We love the tables we found as they are very unique and came in a variety of colors. The quality is superb, the price was appropriate and the selection that we found was plentiful.

Purchased 4 chairs here less than a year ago. They were originally priced at $4000 and got them on sale for $2000. That is still a LOT to pay for 4 chairs. However, within 3 months, we noticed that the method of support to the seat was weak (just elastic bands), it actually ripped the bottom liners of the chairs. I've contacted the store 6 times and can not get a single reply. Now these chairs are so uncomfortable to sit on as the seat goes to low and the frame around it causes discomfort to the backs of our legs. These chairs say Made in China on the bottom, which I didn't notice when
