After we smelled gas in our home and contacted Nicor for an inspection, we were scrambling to find someone to help us quickly repair a couple of gas pipes that were leaking. Our usual plumber couldn't make it for a few weeks. They referred us to Permidt, who were able to send techs to our home within an hour of my call. I'm grateful that they were able to quickly repair our issue the same day. Because they arrived promptly and completed the repairs quickly, I was able to have Nicor return the same afternoon and give us the all-clear. John P. and Permidt Engineering are our new go to repairmen. We are downtown Chicago and they made the trip out to fix the plumbing in our high rise condo building on the 20th floor; John's service was above and beyond. There were more issues than he was told about and he went out of his way to find and fix each issue and explain everything to us in laymen's terms. He was even so kind as to replace a floor cover to make it look nicer and fit better. This company does true and honest work and I would recommend them to everyone.

I have had Permidt out twice, and both times they were great. The first time my hot water heater went out on me during a cold snap. I called in the morning and they came out the same day to install a new water heater. The second time I called them out to rod out my main line and inspect my flood control pit since my basement flooded. They were helping a lot of other people with floods as well, so I had to wait a day, but I was fine with that since the water already subsided and I needed them to help me prevent any additional flooding. The price they charged for rodding the main line to the street

I typically call two different companies for any work I need done, and let them duke it out to get the job. After only two weeks in my newly purchased townhome in the city, I had a water heater go out. Excellent service!! Great plumbers!! Have had a couple interactions with Permidt Engineering and has just always been positive. This week had John out to fix a leaky faucet, and I am just so pleased with the level of professional and friendly service he provided. Fixed my leak on the first visit; had to come back for a follow up (loose handle was turning all the way to hot on it's own) but the issue had resolved itself by the time he had arrived. We had water starting to back up in our basement late Thursday night. I called and left messages for most places in the neighborhood. They were the first to get back to us and we're willing to come out first thing in the morning on Friday. Another business nearby was very nice but could not get out for 4 days. They were there by 8 30 am and done by 11am. I had an issue with my sewer so I had to find a reputable sewer company FAST. I check with my neighbors and one of them recommended Permidt Engineering. He said they're honest and do a good job. Permidt Engineering came out the next morning (the guys name was Fritz). He did a great job!!!!
