Going green is more than a trend, it's a necessity. The process of polishing concrete creates a long-lasting, maintenance-free finish for new and existing concrete. Our product is renewable and sustainable, with other benefits far exceeding conventional flooring like hardwood, carpet and tile. Occasionally, we have Projects that are so fun and unique, we just have to show off everything our brilliant clients let us create for them.

The process of polishing creates a long-lasting, maintenance-free, finish for new and existing concrete. When pouring a polished floor, we generally use a 4000 psi mix with fiber and wire reinforcements placed as we go. Some contractors lay wire and pour on top of it, but this method does not effectively reinforce the concrete, as the wire is just sitting on the bottom of the slab.
Of course one of the greatest selling points of ground/polished concrete is that we can offer complete installations for new construction but we can also refinish existing concrete to restore it to its previous glory. We can also take completely inglorious concrete, with seemingly no potential whatsoever and turn it into something surprisingly beautiful.
The implementation of sustainable building practices has catapulted decorative and polished concrete applications to the forefront of the flooring industry. Traditional floor coverings, such as carpet, tile and wood flooring often mandate adhesives that emit VOCs into the atmosphere over time, reducing the indoor air quality.
Integral Dyes are a liquid pigment color that is added into the concrete mix on-site while it is being poured, giving color throughout, rather than just on the surface. We primarily use this coloring method for interior and exterior ground and polished surfaces. The concentration of integral dyes can be adjusted to achieve a wide range of colors and the result has beautiful variation that can only be achieved in concrete.
Why are finished concrete floors a good option for homeowners? Concrete is an efficient heat conductor due to its thermal mass. It is a green alternative to other materials requiring layers and adhesives and it provides a unique look unparalleled by hardwoods and tile. Are concrete floors more cost-effective than other materials like hardwood or tile?
