Located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, this historic building was a "Los Angeles First" that began a co-working and technology trend in the area. Located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, the Emerson at 225 South Grand Avenue offers luxury rental apartments near some of the city's biggest attractions like The Disney Concert Hall, MOCA and the Broad Museum, as well as the Financial District.
This project was extensive to say the least. The tolerances were low and the pace was fast. Our scope within this project extended from rough infrastructure to finished control systems. Every subsystem can be operated from a central concierge location as well as throughout the building via remote devices, thus logistically freeing the concierge team.
We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with this wonderful client. The entire project was a labor of love. Two units, with 18 stories between them, included every subsystem imaginable controlled by a centralized system. The units were linked together via single mode fiber with a 1000m wire run through 25 fire-walls.
Comprised of over 160 'Stealth Acoustics' invisible interior speakers, 50 miles of cable, complete conduit system, controlled shades, HVAC, radiant heating, fully distributed lighting, pool and spa temp, door locks, cameras, security sensors, humidity sensors, descending walls, and natural flame features, this doesn't even begin to cover the vast attention to detail which garnered this project its well-deserved recognition.
