Progressive Energy
We are a full-service insulation contractor that's been in business for more than 30 years in the Twin Cities. Our philosophy of business has remained the same since the day we opened our doors: To treat each home as if it were our own; To treat each homeowner as if they were family. Progressive Energy Corporation is now under the ownership and operation of NorthStar Insulation Inc. of Forest Lake, MN.

We are BPI Certified Minnesota Insulation Contractors and have been Lead Abatement Certified since 2010. Our company takes pride in an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Another bonus to choosing us as your Insulation Installer is that we're an approved Minnesota Insulation Contractor for Xcel Energy and Centerpoint Energy Rebate Programs.

We have also been a Community Action Program's insulation program partner for 30 years. Spray Foam Insulation is the best form of insulation because it promotes structural stability, high R-value, and sound proofing. At Progressive Energy, our goal is to help you save money, knowing that the insulation you choose should give you a warm home and a lasting solution.
Services
We are Progressive Energy Corporation, an experienced, hardworking crew of insulators and carpenters. For more than three decades we've been helping homeowners around the Twin Cities make their homes comfortable with the insulation service they need and the construction and remodel project they've envisioned.
Spray Foam Insulation is the most effective insulation you can install, and it is structurally reinforcing and sound reducing. Spray Foam expands so that all air flow is sealed off. While initial costs to install it are higher than other insulation, it's proven effectiveness makes it worthwhile. Cellulose Insulation is the most green option available on the market and costs less than some other insulation.
Consider the various types, their R-values and the thickness needed. The type you use for your project will depend on the spaces that need it. Insulation that works best for a ceiling isn't the same as what works best in wall cavities, for example. A combination of insulation types is usually the best solution, especially in new construction where all the spaces are open.
This is one of the most common questions homeowners want to know when considering an insulation project. It's important to know that if insulation is compressed, it won't give you its full rated R-value, such as when insulation batts rated for one thickness are squeezed into a thinner space. Joists, studs and rafters in the project area will affect the R-value of the insulation too - in a ceiling for example.
Closed-cell spray foam insulation* is the most effective insulation solution available. It produces a higher R-Value per square inch of installation as compared to cellulose or fiberglass insulation. It also improves overall structural stability and provides a soundproofing benefit as well. Tired of spending too much money on energy bills?

I would highly recommend this great team. I had attic insulation blown in and was amazed how hard they worked and how clean they left the work site. I highly recommend their services.

The bidding process and work went just fine. But they grossly overstated the amount of rebate money we would get from Xcel and then the owner was unresponsive when we attempted to come to a fair resolution. As a result their error left us paying $1500 more than we were expecting. Double check with Xcel before you trust their rebate estimate.

Foamed my exterior walls as part of a major renovation. Respectful staff and no glitches at all. Will be using them again on phase 2.

Friendly Service but some of the work was sloppy. Siding was put back on crooked and cracked. Just got done replacing some boards and repainting much of my house as a result. Spray foam fell on my floor and I was told the residue couldn't be removed.

They did a great job! When they ran into an unanticipated issue, they did not charge more than their estimate. Personable and professional team, from start to finish.

I hired Progressive to foam the crawl space under my 4 season porch in White Bear Lake. They were able to come out a day after I requested service, due to a cancellation on their schedule. They worked quickly and were careful when working around my old home and its quirks. When they got stuck in a really tight area of the crawl space, they called another one of their guys off a different job to crawl back into this incredibly tight space to finish the job correctly, and were positive and upbeat about the whole situation. I could not be happier with how the work was completed, hopefully we feel
