The one star review by Lisa C, my wife, is exactly what happened to us, but that wasn't the end of the untrustworthiness or incompetence of Scott Ankersen's Dendra Doors. It was not long before the paint on our kitchen cabinets began to flake off. While the problem is mostly by the sink and dishwasher, it is not entirely limited to there. They obviously did not prime and/or paint appropriately. This should not happen. It didn't even keep well for six months. I emailed him about it in 2017 with photos, and he just ignored it. Stay away.

UPDATE ... after a year we still have not had any communication with this company. The review by Salel is not a review but just a sales pitch by the company itself or a friend. They did not actually have anything done by the company they just want to say how spellbound they are that the company can supposedly create whatever you want for IKEA cabinets. This is the lure that we fell for when signing up to do business. I cannot warn you enough not to risk losing all your money on this very questionable business. There is no office and no workshop. Get references and call them and go see the jobs

I am amazed with the concept and creativity behind this business. It's fascinating that you don't need to stick with limited existing colors and schemes imposed by big stores such as IKEA, Home-depot, etc. With Dendra Doors you can customize your cabinet doors color, material and pattern in a way you desire while you can still purchase regular cabinet boxes existing in the market and combine them with the customized doors for the perfect, unique and durable kitchen. I strongly warn you not to do business with Scott Ankersen. He is dishonest and does not run a legitimate business. Here are my reasons for saying this, which I have learned since first entering into a contract with him 7 months ago.
1. His sales pitch centers on how the doors will be made to order in a workshop in SE Portland, 2 miles from my home. However, he rebuffed any attempts to visit this workshop or pick up the doors there myself. When I received my delivery it was dropped off in a crate by a shipping company and I did not see the shipping origin, but the circumstances make me believe

Please don't put yourself through the trauma and stress of working with this company. I have done dozens of remodeling projects large and small and this is the worst company I have ever worked with. It took over SIX MONTHS (versus the promised 3-4 weeks) to get all of the doors and parts that I ordered and they are still not right. I have spent over a thousand dollars correcting his mistakes and having the contractor back to install parts. On top of it all the painted doors chip very easily and cannot be touched up. Due to all the extra work that I've put in to it, the kitchen looks OK

If I were only reviewing the overall quality of the doors and panels, I would give Dendra 4 or 5 stars. However, this is one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever worked with and was by far the most frustrating part of our renovation.
Before we signed the contract and sent Scott Ankerson our deposit (we paid by credit card instead of doing a bank transfer, even paying an extra processing fee that Scott charged, because we wanted some recourse if something happened), my husband and I expressed our concern about Kristin B.'s review. Scott Ankerson seemed like a trustworthy guy, but after we sent the bank transfer, he missed the shipping deadline, (leading to a total of $500 in return visit fees from the installer) and stopped answering phone calls, texts, and emails for a month.

When we initially found Dendra Doors online, Scott seemed to be exactly what we were looking for, professional, and someone we could count on for our project.
We began talking with Scott on April 15 and signed a contract on May 24 for a delivery date of July 10. It is now August 19, and we still don't have our cabinets.
On July 7, Scott emailed asking for the final payment. I expressed concern that paying in full before the cabinets were delivered made me uncomfortable, and Scott told me that he would "take care of us" and that we shouldn't worry, so I transferred the money

We've used Dendra Doors for four projects throughout our house now, and are very pleased with the results. It's a great way to use affordable Ikea cabinets or furniture for a custom look. We've used Dendra Doors to make custom walnut fronts and trim for a completely remodeled-ikea kitchen (that doesn't look 'ikea'), a built-in ikea-Besta media unit, a built-in sektion and billy book-shelf/office space, and a hallway pantry/mud-room bench.
