Mark Elmer and is co-worker Cary restored the three fireplaces and the hearths in my three-story stucco apartment building in Madison's historic district on the Isthmus. Their work was reasonably-priced, they were professional, timely, and did quality work. I will hire them again to tuck-point and pour a cap on my 40-foot chimney.

Mark Elmer restored and pointed a fieldstone foundation on an historic 1890s house I own. The work was beautifully done and demonstrates why he is sought after for his skill with, and knowledge of, vintage stone and brick construction. Mark's reasonable estimate for the job came in less than projected--a pleasant surprise when he presented his bill. The professionalism of his crew and company shows in the craftsmanship of the work and the pristine condition of the job sit when the work was complete. You can't go wrong with A & M Masonry.

Mark was amazing to work with! We had to schedule the work on our chimney a few months in advance, but Mark was in touch several times after he put us on the schedule. He also got to us exactly when he said he would. He was extremely responsive and took the time to explain everything to me. I would absolutely use him again if we needed him, and would highly recommend him.

Excellent work. Excellent staff. Our house needed brick and stone mortar repair. The crew were very thoughtful and listened to our concerns about mortar matching and details, et al. The work was done on schedule and quickly. This kind of work is expensive but they were reasonable. Our little brick & stone house looks lovely again.
Will absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a good mason.

I wanted to a stone column with mitered corners built around the support beam in my newly remodeled kitchen and Mark was recommended as the person who could build this unique fixture. He is, indeed, a craftsman! He seemed to delight in the uniqueness and artistic challenge of my project as much as I did! And it is turned out just as I imagined - Gorgeous!! I also had some rock and brick facing that needed repair on the front of my 40 year old home. Mark insisted we pick the two different colors together, each in different lighting, to make sure they would match. He ended up hand-mixing a color

We live in an historic building that has needed repointing and other masonry repairs for years. Of all the masons we talked to, A&M seemed to have the best understanding of the needs of our building. I cannot say enough positive things regarding the quality of workmanship provided by Mark and his team at A&M Masonry. We live in University Heights and have a historic home that needed the chimney repaired and tuck pointed using specific material/applications to preserve the historic integrity of the home. The job was not an easy one with a sloped landscape and the chimney being three stories high. After further examination, two of the chimney walls had to be rebuilt and Mark took the time to individually mark each stone to ensure it was put back together in its original form as well as
