Renewable Energy Corporation is one of the Mid-Atlantic region's largest residential solar energy companies. Since 2009, our experienced solar panel installers have built hundreds of commercial and residential solar energy systems in Maryland. We're a big reason Maryland's solar power use is on the rise.
Looking for the perfect solution to reduce your monthly utility bills, increase your property value, and take a proactive stance toward environmental responsibility? Solar panel installation is the answer! Residential solar panels are an affordable, clean and green source of energy for homes large and small.
With many generous state solar incentives and tax credits, Maryland homeowners are opting to harness clean, free energy from the sun. A professionally installed solar panel system with quality system components can not only provide you with energy independence, but also save you money and lower your electric bill in times of ever-increasing electric rates.
When it comes to solar panel installations, rooftops have long been the most popular option, and in many people's minds, the only one. However, there are many more choices for installations that go far beyond the rooftop, and today's advanced technology allows us to install solar panels virtually anywhere, including places that have never known the benefits of electricity.
The cost of solar panels has decreased significantly in the past few years, and there are also many programs in place to help homeowners get the system in place. The cost of a solar panel system depends on many factors, especially the size of the system. More panels mean a higher cost, but also more energy produced.

Not at all happy with this company’s performance or response. Not installed by promised time nor based on salesperson’s promises.
They would not allow me to speak to the owner (Sean) after repeated requests. Pictures show the hole they left in my garage wall, refusing to repair.
Basement freezer turned off after Andrew Clark was here for FAILED county electrical inspection. Destroyed Whole filet mignon among other things in freezer (proof via email from A.C.). Don’t understand why a “licensed electrician “ couldn’t do the job Baltimore County requires.

I needed help finding someone who could do a special analysis of my existing system. REC was SUPER helpful on the phone, professional, and complete. They totally helped me find a point of contact - even though they couldn't do the work themselves. When I upgrade my system - I'm calling here first!

I have to really like a crew to take the time to do a google review. Renewable energy has been amazing. I'm a pretty picky customer who likes a lot of updates and they were incredibly accommodating. Jenn, Ciara, and Andrew have been super helpful on the admin side through the whole process, and Christian (and crew), Derek, and Deandre were all super capable, and neat while working on the install and follow ups. The install is still fresh, but I've been super happy with the whole process.

Working with Renewable Energy was a very good experience, as with any construction job that depends on other companies to do their part there were a few challenges but everything was handled is a professional manner. We were kept informed during the process. Everyone was great to work with. Ciara, was a pleasure to work with, every time we called she was very friendly, and professional and was always able to get us to the answers we needed.

This year we decided to add a solar system to our home, so we contacted Renewable Energy Corp (REC) to get an estimate. Their sales representative came to our home and walked us through the process, technology, products, and services they provide. After surveying our home’s installation site and checked the availability of direct sunlight over the course of a day at our location, they provided an estimate that we accepted for a 6kw system.
The installation was then scheduled and took two days to complete. REC did all the engineering work, permitting, lined up the county inspection, power company

I met an awesome member of the Family and his name was Sammy. He knows the mission of the company and the value of the customers. I personally gained a lot of knowledge from someone so kind and respectful. It’s hard to get that in recent time so it helped to appreciate what this company has to offer. People need to take a look at a what has been missing in a world so unknown.

There are lots of solar options in the DC area, so I'd go with someone else. REC's quotes were more than others, and they seemed to know less about installation. I'm sure they're legitimate, just think other options are better. The sales guy was pushy, and kept changing the estimates based on a discount where you had to sign right then and there. Seems like other comments here indicate a similar experience. Not impressed, would recommend avoiding.

Renewable energy has us prepared & ready for winter!
We were pleasantly surprised when we found out Renewable Energy offered a battery back up system as an option to store energy with from our new solar panels after they were installed. Not to mention, they were the only company we found to also help us with a new roof that was needed before we could install solar panels. The federal & state incentives alone covered up to 60% of the battery cost which we weren't expecting to be able to afford.
Between the new roof, solar, and
battery we feel at ease in knowing we'll be prepared

I can't speak for the quality of Renewable Energy's solar panels but I can say their prices are high and I did not appreciate the hard sales approach.
After requesting general information on a solar website, Renewable Energy called asking when they could send a technician to the house to inspect the roof. The "technician" / sales person (energy consultant) did not inspect the roof but immediately started scribbling costs and savings on a notepad. It was helpful to receive information on solar in general, but a few things he said were simply untrue:

I have no do doubt that these guys know their stuff and have done solid installations. But their approach to selling feels a bit predatory. Some examples:
- they called me at least 3x daily until I answered the phone to discuss a solar project. I expected the call to basically be a discussion of my needs and a quick assessment/quote; instead, it involved them telling me why every other provider (and every other option of installation other than theirs) was inferior.
- I also expected the onsite visit to be a quick review of my roof and a quick quote. Instead, the guy took 90 minutes and basically

I'd steer clear of this company. They use high-pressure selling tactics and their prices are way above the market average. I got five quotes from separate companies and Renewable Energy Corporation was at least two times as expensive as the other quotes by kW.
The salesman who showed up at my house insisted he was not a salesman, but an "energy analyst." The company's pitch is they wanted to make my home a "showcase home" and be part of a study. By participating in the study, I would get a 30% discount but the offer was good if I purchased on the spot. and signed

I had not planned on getting solar panels installed when representatives visited our community but I was willing to learn more about how I could benefit from having them with the thought that I would consider them in the future. This company surprised me, I found everyone I spoke to knowledgeable and friendly. The representative that came to my home provided me several options with detailed information on each, there was no pressure to make a decision, no harsh sales pitch. I just felt like my friend was explaining why this was a good idea and left to make the decision on my own. Once I signed

These guys are not trustworthy. The salesman (Rob) spun me a line about a case study which gave us a special deal, and then went on to try to put the hard sale on. Fortunately I know enough about the solar market to recognize the high cost and managed to get rid of him. I did some digging and they are well known in the industry to be jokers.

Everyone,
well, Patrick was at my house last night...talk about lie. he said they are number one rated with the BBB and with yelp and angies list. he tried his pushy tactics too. "this price is only good while I'm here"..nice guy, but a scam. which I got that feeling about half way thru his 3 hour pitch...I told him many times give me your price or I'm throwing you out.. once we got down to pricing it was like being at a used car sales lot, the price dropped and he said if I walk out this price isn't any long good...okay get out. then the price dropped again to a lower

Don't even think about doing this! We regret it deeply. I did a cost analysis on this based on the promise of SREC's and Panel rebates. The value of these was $8,294. I tried to find out about the SREC's and was told they would only speak to my husband. Despite my signing the contract and being the one to pay for it. After months of back and forth he finds out that we will not be getting our SREC's, nor will we be getting the Panel rebates. So we are losing $8,294. There is also the issue that we were told that our energy savings would amount to $1170 a year. It appears

Great Solar Company!
We had an amazing experience with Renewable Energy Corp. Met with the salesman who provided us with valuable facts regarding residential solar systems. Quick turn around from the sales to the installation. Installers were courteous, respectful of our property and ideas regarding installation. They also provided us with important information about the system and answered questions in a manner that was easily understood.

What can I say, Renewable Energy corporation 2 thumbs up!! My wife and I were looking into saving money on electric and to go green doing it. We decided to check into solar panels for the house. We contacted Renewable energy about the solar panels and they sent out a rep to talk to us. After the meeting it was a no Brainerd for us to switch. During the whole process they made everything so easy for us. They did all the paper work and got the permits. We just sat back and signed a couple papers a d that was it. If I had to do it all over again Renewable Energy will be my first and only call

The sales guy was nice enough, but I am so sick of receiving the hard sell treatment when I clearly inform them (multiple times) up front that I am just doing due diligence and gathering information. I don't want to spend 3 hours seeing multiple estimates - just give me your number. I LIKE the product - especially the battery options - and when I am ready to spend that much money I'll let you know....HATE the sales approach.
Notice their response accuses me of not wanting ALL the information, but ignores the fact that it was their APPROACH I did not appreciate. Another example of how

I would recommend Renewal Energy to everyone. They installed my solar panels and the service has been impeccable. They clearly explained the process, costs and benefits very well. They completed the installation ahead of schedule (with my permission). Jenn, in the office prepared all of the paperwork and sent it to me. She has continued to assist me in getting everything coordinated with the utility company. This has been a great experience.

In summer 2014 I decided to go solar with our Maryland home. Our house gets plenty of sunlight every day, and the roof is not covered by any trees or gets any shade. So, the perfect location for a solar array. Now the question was which product to use and which installation company to pick and which pricing model. There are lots of solar companies out there offering different products, and even pricing models, from lease options to even a model where the installation company would own the array and sell the electricity to me. After careful consideration - it took me almost three months to learn

If you're interested in investing in solar, there are much better options in the DMV area. We had a salesperson come to our home from Renewable Energy Corporation, and use aggressive sales tactics and photographs that were not accurate to the actual install. After signing up for solar panels and the water system in November of 2013, we have waited over a year for the company to obtain proper permitting and licensing for the install. Come to find out, they had actually allowed their license in VA to expire, so we are unsure what we were waiting for during the one year period. The installers

SCAM! Run away! Dont waste your time and don't get conned. A salesman came to our house after we expressed an interest in solar from our energy provider. From the very beginning we were mislead. We thought a technician from the energy company was coming over to see if solar was even possible on our house. In reality it was a salesman not even related to the energy company who insisted that he wasn't a salesman. We should have kicked him out then, but we thought we'd learn a little about solar from him. We told him from the beginning we weren't interested in buying because we
