Creative director Kristopher Dabner has been bringing imagination and creativity to beautiful gardens in the Kansas City area for 20 years. Some of his designs have been featured in local and national magazines including Kansas City Spaces, Spaces KC, KC Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens, Midwest Living and HGTV Magazine.
The Greensman worked on this garden for 20 years. The front terrace used to have a giant Oak tree so we removed traditional landscaping and replaced with the oval brick patio with the boxwoods planted in it. There are different ways to walk through the patio, you can access the front door and side doors walking through the boxwoods.
You want to start spring out right, it gets the excitement started to want to be out in your yard. It is bulb heavy if you plan early you can have spring bulbs blooming for up to three months. Starting with crocus and small ephemeral bulbs, moving on to daffodils, tulips, allium, hyacinth, there are a lot of bulbs that are underused.
Draws people out to the garden it creates focal point and atmosphere. Weather it is a fire pit or fireplace it extends the season, with a fire you can come to the garden earlier in spring and stay later into the fall. It reminds you of Boy or Girl Scout camp and is a great gathering place for family and friends.

The finished project took some time, but well worth it. the Greensman are a talented group and I had
