My name is Kathryn Goldenoak, and I help people create home spaces that celebrate who they are. I'm passionate about the psychology of space and the idea of Home, and I hold a master's degree in interior architecture & design.

We are putting an addition on our house and the new room will be attached to the kitchen (kitchen not being renovated). I'm terrible with spatial relationships (but confident in my design choices) and was concerned with furniture layout and was worried about how to achieve a cohesive look. Kathryn was recommended by a friend so started an email conversation to see if she was interested, was a good fit and most importantly, got what I was trying to achieve. She totally understood where I was coming from and did an excellent job of preparing for our first zoom meeting. I had a list of questions ready

Kathryn worked with us on our kitchen, family room, and dining room design several years ago. When the time came to renovate our office and to put some finishing touches on the dining room, we knew we wanted to work with Kathryn again.
Kathryn has taken the time to really understand our style preferences, and so her suggestions are always well-targeted. We trust her to help us narrow down selections (from "infinite" if we were doing it on our own) to choices that meet our tastes. We really enjoy working with her!

We've hired Kathryn twice - once when we were renovating our kitchen, once for redoing our kids' bedroom - and I'm shortly going to be doing so again for help with my workroom lighting.
She has a great eye for color, shape and style, and she's done a fine job working with our aesthetics: finding things *we'd* like given our particular tastes. Her sense of space and layout has also been quite helpful. But by far the best thing about working with her has been learning about *possibilities* - in every case, she's presented a few options that we didn't think of, and a few options we didn't even realize

We hired more people than I can remember the last year, from realtors to home inspectors to architects to contractors. By the time we found Kathryn, we were well into the process, and we told ourselves we didn’t need a designer - we could pick paint colors and handle buying all new furniture. We happened on her by chance, and decided to do a one hour consultation to see if we thought it was worth our time.
