Solar panels are a proven and reliable way to produce clean electricity where it's needed - on a home, RV, boat, farm, or anywhere else that receives at least moderate sunlight. Our DIY solar power system kits come ready to install by yourself or a hired professional. These kits are the best way to build a complete solar panel system because they include not only the panels, but also racking, an inverter, all Balance of System (BoS) components, and (in some cases) battery options for energy storage.
Grid-tied solar with battery backup, or Solar plus Storage, is a hybrid system that stays online whether the grid is up or down. All you need to do is capture energy from the Sun and store it in a deep-cycle solar battery, then supply that power to either your home or to the grid using a hybrid inverter.
An off-grid solar system is designed for the power needs of mid- to large-size homes. Unlike grid-tied solar systems, off-grid systems have no connection to the utility grid, and must make all the electricity necessary to power your home. Off-grid solar systems operate from the stored energy in a battery bank.
Off-grid cabin solar systems are designed for the scaled-down power needs of small homes and remote cabins. These are very friendly and professional alternative energy sales and warehouse personnel I worked with at altE Store, which is short for Alternative Energy Store. I bought a couple types of solar panels as legacy system panel replacements and some for new uses and expansion. I have not seen better prices anywhere available to end users. These brands should be around a while as opposed to the original panel manufacturer that my system installer put in 9 years ago.

I was asked to purchase an Outback inverter/charger and that it needed to be in hand in 3 days. That is a super quick turnaround. I was totally stressed trying to find not one, but TWO! Since they are so heavy, I tried to find a Alternative energy store I could walk in to. That was not happening. I was striking out all the way around! Many years back, I think 13 years, I found alt-E and my great sales rep Bramley who is just the best! He's more like a good friend because he is patient and get's it that people need to understand more and at different levels. ALL of my equipment is functioning still, with only one battery bank replacement. (Li-I for the next one!) Not the most descriptive photos of my self install, but you get the idea. This was all installed in 2008.
