The law requires you to call 811 to have public utilities marked before you dig. However, public utilities will only locate the facilities they own - electric, gas, oil, sewer, telephone, water. The vast majority of underground utilities are privately owned, which is why you need to make Blood Hound your second call.
We locate ALL underground utilities and structures and offer a range of highly specialized subsurface utility services to significantly reduce your risk of costly damages and project delays and mitigate safety hazards for your crews and community. All irrigation and sprinkler systems are private underground lines that need to get marked.
1 Servicing residential, industrial and commercial customers, our friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff will help educate and problem-solve all projects no matter how large or small. Our certified technicians are well trained and use the latest technologies to pinpoint with extreme accuracy the damaged and leaking pipes for repair.

Blood Hound came out to my property yesterday with the goal of making 3 lines for me. One line is marked properly. Another line was made up and does not have any utilities underneath of it. And the 3rd line is a underground utility that I installed and is not even on the side of my house in question. To add insult to injury, the 3rd line has a clear disturbance in the ground and can be seen coming out of my house. The marker is 18" away from the actual utility. This is a very obvious indicator of the level of service you will receive. Poor at best. They have yet to take the time to return my call

This place is a joke. The guy came out and "marked" the lines in our work area. Then he marked a bunch of stuff way outside of the work area. The gas line he marked was so far off I had to hand dig 80-100 square feet 3 feet down. I should have known when he got out divining rods that this place is a joke. When I called for a refund I was told it had been too long since they located (2 months) total waste of money.

I called Blood Hound about a week prior to the install date for my generator. They were able to get me scheduled inside that tight timeframe without a problem. I was initially a little skeptical about the price, but it was worth every cent. I'm located in North Carolina in the Research Triangle region.
Tripp Wallace with Blood Hound came out and did a PHENOMENAL job. He was an absolute professional from start to finish. He gave me a call when he was on his way, made sure to ask where he could park, and explained the whole process to me. I like to think of myself as handy, so I asked Tripp if I

The backyard of our home has an underground system of irrigation lines, electrical lines, a gas line, and a gutter system. Unfortunately, not knowing where the lines are and how deep they are creates a problem when doing any kind of landscaping. Therefore, we searched for a underground utility locator company that could identify the location and depth of these systems. In addition, a schematic of the systems was needed. We found a local company in Charlottesville but after an exchange of emails we never heard back from them. A Google search identified Blood Hound LLC that served central Virginia

My boyfriend and I closed on a home Dec 2020 in NC, new build with a septic tank. The builder has been 0 help with providing accurate septic tank/line/leach field info and we wanted to get some backyard projects started. One of the contractors we are working with suggested 811 the free utilies company but since we needed septic areas located, it was considered a private utility and we'd have to pay. I checked around for different companies and Blood Hound ended up with the lesser rate so we booked them. Dustin with the NC division was nothing short of amazing, great customer service, stayed in

Just witnessed driver texting and driving in the middle lane of I-85 south in Gastonia Nc slowing to 48 then back up to 65 swerved over on couple big trucks trying to pass him on the right I honk my horn to get his attention to tell him to pay attention and move out they way it take 5 blows of my air horn before he looks up from phone and in mirror then makes the motion for me to pass on the right in the restricted lane and goes back to texting. If this is the type of employees you have I highly recommend another company.
