Alyce Lopez owns and operates The True House, a full-service interior design firm that specializes in residential design for busy, young families. Alyce began her career in interior design after purchasing a fixer upper with her husband. The two navigated through renovations on a 1950's rambler maximizing their creativity and pocket change.
The True House came about organically after documenting their home renovations on social media. Alyce Lopez grew up in southern California in Aliso Viejo, CA. Growing up near some of the most beautiful beaches, Alyce was always inspired by natural textures and elements. She graduated with a degree in education.
In 2006, she married her husband who teaches kindergarten locally in Chula Vista. Today, Alyce is mother to two young children (ages 8 & 10) and her pug, Mochi. We turned to The True House for our recent kitchen, living room and dining room remodel and we were blown away by Alyce as a designer and as a professional and attentive business owner. We used Alyce at the True house to help us to remodel our kitchen, living room, bathrooms, and new flooring. She was amazing. Her ideas were better then anything I had ever seen on Pinterest or anything I could have ever come up with. She helped coordinate with the general contractor and all sub contractors. I reached out to Alyce for virtual support (I'm in a different state and we're all quarantined!) to help me update my flooring and kitchen. I was too indecisive to make design choices, and she was able to make recommendations and send me a box of samples to help with my selections. She pulled everything together in a cohesive way and helped me work with what I had (my existing cabinets and counter tops) and update the rest (backsplash, lighting, flooring, cabinet hardware) and made it look Pinterest / IG worthy. Alyce Lopez is an amazing designer and so personable. She listened to our wants and needs and combined them with her expertise to design the perfect kitchen for our family. From the floors to the knobs every inch of space is perfect.
The contractors and people she had come to our home were also amazing. We lived in our home during the entire remodel and never once was I ever annoyed or unhappy with anyone Alyce sent to do work.

We contacted Alyce as one of our options for an interior designer and we were very happy with her service, ideas and overall personality and demeanor during our interview. We had to make a difficult decision on choosing our final interior designer. Really can't say enough good things about Alyce and The True House. Her attention to detail and responsiveness to whatever I needed was top notch. This is the second project I have now worked with her and both times I was completely satisfied. Most recently she helped me remodel my kitchen from a dark drab space to a beautiful light place that has become my dream entertaining kitchen I have always wanted! Alyce was recommended to us by a friend to help with our living room. I met with her, uncertain if she would actually be able to suggest things that were my style (so many people decorate in different versions of the same style!). She absolutely fulfilled all of our expectations though! I gave her a budget, our dreams for the room, and told her we liked to do as much of the work as possible. She gave me back a room that was featured on the Pottery Barn facebook page. We ended up asking her to help with 3 other rooms, and I hope she will also help when we redo the bathrooms! Alyce is a dream to work with! My husband and I have completely different styles and different opinions on what a budget for decorating our home should look like. After a consultation with Alyce we were pretty close to being on the same page! Our living room turned out great and we are both really happy with it. We get compliments on things that she did on our home all the time. Her husband also has some pretty solid carpentry skills! The floating shelf he built for our home is beautiful and well made. If she suggests he make a piece for you, go for it!!!

Alyce is amazing. She can easily visualize a perfect space after spending a few minutes with a client. I hired her to design two spaces and they are AMAZING. I would have never had the guts to pick out such bold pieces but she encouraged me to trust her after I showed her pictures of what I liked. I was blown away by the final design and I get constant compliments on my home. She is also GREAT at budgeting. My budget was small, and she was indeed able to work with me. If you need a space redone, HIRE HER!!!!!!!!!!!
