Benson and his brother Harrison founded Tyner Construction in 1979. Benson's far-reaching vision and mind for strategic planning have made Tyner Construction the market leader that it is today. His strongest expertise lies in the financial side of the real estate and construction industries; he also excels in site evaluation and value engineering.
In 1978, brothers Benson and Harrison Tyner owned and operated a deli and ice cream parlor in Burnsville, NC. They did a few real estate transactions on the side. Tyner Real Estate did well, and the brothers soon expanded into remodeling. They undertook their first remodeling job in 1979 (using empty pickle buckets from the deli to haul the dirt they dug out of the crawl space.)
Tyner Construction has been building custom homes among the magnificent peaks and valleys of Western North Carolina for many years, often in the region's most prestigious resorts and communities.
