Can't recommend Avid enough. I woke up yesterday with a slow leak in my bathroom ceiling and specifically called Avid based on previous well-reviewed work from another owner in my condo. I was advised to send photos to the info email on their site. I heard back within 30 minutes that they could have someone out the next morning but then they realized Anton would be next-door later that day so he stopped by. He confirmed the roof was dry given the prior tropical storm and predicted it was coming from the unit above. I said I would get in touch with the owner (offsite) and get back to Avid.

BAD EXPERIENCE! I really tried to make it an easy job - sent pictures ahead of time, described the work I was looking for, however none of that seemed to have helped.
Contracted to seal fitment around PTAC Air Con unit which was missing molding at baseboard area. Sent pictures ahead of time to outline the work that they were going to have to do. Agreed service was to (1) install baseboard which had a gap between my unit and the wall (leading to air leakage) and (2) seal the gap in the air con unit sleeve.
They came unprepared for the job without a baseboard, and instead installed caulk where

Avid were restoring our antique brownstone entrance doors. It was quite a significant job required to sand the doors to the bare food, repair some panel cracks, repainting with color matching to other wooden panels behind the door. Also the frame around the door needed the same job to be performed. Folks from Avid made an amazing work at a competitive price. They were also great at communicating details and options and giving updates.

We have used Avid in the past for a number of smaller projects (kitchen tile backsplash, install back patio sun shades, etc) and have had good experiences. So when we decided to redo both bathrooms, we decided to try them for a larger project. Overall, it was a good decision. They were highly responsive and very helpful from planning/quotes through to final touch-ups. As with any large project, a number of unexpected issues arose that conflicted with our original ideas. But Avid was highly capable and able to help us work through each on to our satisfaction. We are very happy with both bathrooms

We purchased curtain rods and drapes from West Elm for a wall of windows in our apartment. We originally hired West Elm for the installation but their technician was unable to drill into our wall... Hired Avid after searching and getting quotes for both painting and minor construction services. What I really like is that they do any project regardless of size, and they offer a variety of services, from painting to construction and electrical, and we wanted to establish a relationship with a company that we could call in the future as additional work arises. Needed a microwave removed from above our stove and replaced with a new one. Got Avid off yelp and I'm back to confirm the positive reviews! Easy to schedule, updated me via text and email, and communication was super easy. We also had our dishwasher secured into place under the countertop as well as rewiring our Nest fire alarm. Everything was so quick and easy! The gentlemen that arrived to do the work were kind and prepared. Got the job done pain free.
Cost about 195 for the all three services which I find to be completely reasonable. 10/10 recommend for any household handyman needs!!

Today we had a new insulated metal exterior door installed on our house. AL and Mike were the technicians that were sent to do the project. They were amazing! They made a great team that got the project done in a timely fashion and the craftsmanship looks amazing. After they were done, they cleaned up quickly, explained what they did and had me give my final approval of the job. This is the 2nd project Avid Handyman did with our home ( an interior bathroom door and this project ). We could not be more pleased with their work! Beware! Avid Handyman irrevocably damaged a door they were attempting to install at my house, and refused to take responsibility for it.
Avid was hired to install a door at my home, which they installed upside down (see photos below). The door can no longer be used, since the door handles would be at the wrong height if the door were turned upright to its proper position.
My phone calls, emails and letter requesting compensation for the cost of this damaged door have all been ignored.
Unless you're looking for the added aggravation of going to court for your next small home improvement
