Peter started his company over 30 years ago. After growing up here, he moved to California to attend college and start his career. While in California, Peter started his construction company and owned two florists. He returned in the early 90's to raise his family on San Juan Island. Since then the company has expanded consistently over the years and has grown into a well-respected, highly successful corporation.

My wife and I were looking for a place to retire in the Northwest when we made a stop in Friday Harbor to visit some friends. Not only did we fall in love with the island we also loved our friend’s new house. Peter Schmidt was their building contractor. I have previously worked with 4 different building contractors to build 4 new homes for our family in a span of 40 years. This has given me perspective as to what to look for in a good contractor.
