Carreno Tile, LLC is a family owned and operated company established in 2000. Alvaro Carreno has 21 years of experience in the industry. At the age 16, Alvaro had the opportunity to learn about tile installation from a tile setter who was "Old World" skilled. Alvaro quickly realized it was more challenging the old way because of the meticulous that it demanded.
The internal make-up of this membrane is such that movement in the concrete is not directly transferred to the tile. Although the membrane is bonded to the concrete and the tile to it, the membrane stretches where needed to prevent or reduce force transference. These membranes are either trowel applied or sheet applied.
Carreno Tile & Stone specializes in shower remodeling. One thing they especially focus on is tub to walk-in shower conversions. A curbless shower creates a unique set of circumstances to enable the shower basin to both contain and drain water without overflowing and allow open access for a wheelchair or other limited movement devices.
Framing: Once all the plumbing is in place, the entire shower's new structure is framed out. This includes an optional seat and optional niche. We can also add reinforcements for handrails, even if you are not installing them yet. By framing out the new shower structure, we are able to ensure that all walls will be true to plumb and level, allowing us to create a flat surface for even tile.
