John Taylor grew up next door to Cook's Farm in Charlton, Massachusetts, where he enjoyed working as a youngster until he followed a detour in his mid-teens. It was a summer job doing driveway paving work for a local asphalt company. John and paving quickly caught on with each other. It is this affinity that has given J. Taylor Paving a reputation as a quality asphalt paving contractor.
Many paving contractors show up to do jobs with only a Bobcat or skid steer machine to do the prep work, and that works fine if you're only touching up existing gravel or adding gravel or even smaller simple dig outs. But what happens if you run into a really big rock or a stump? They usually just get buried "out of sight out of mind."
We tell you up front the thickness of the asphalt and the gravel base, and that's how much asphalt and gravel we use. We have a great reputation in a business that has seen too many questionable driveway contractors come and go. We plan on keeping it that way, and we're a family company that's sticking around.
We don't recommend a finish coat for driveways at brand-new homes with garages for at least a year. The base coat will serve you for the short run and prevent some problems. Others may go right in and leave you with a nice looking finished driveway right away, but. Soil will settle around the footings of your garage when it is first constructed.

Did a great job. Very professional, extremely knowledgeable and the quote was competitive. We got numerous quotes to have our driveway top coated. John’s quote was right in the middle. After talking to the other contractors we decided to go with J. Taylor and couldn’t be happier. We would highly recommend.
