In 1971, James Lamphere joined Richard "Dick" Wiemann in establishing Wiemann Lamphere Architects. The two were successful in building a considerable design practice and becoming leaders in the design community, in and around Vermont. In 1985, the second generation of partners was established with the offering of a partnership to Gary Lavigne, a native Vermonter who went to the Boston Architectural Center and practiced in the Boston area, as well as Dennis Webster, a graduate of Colgate University who practiced in Ohio.
David Roy, a native Vermonter and graduate of Vermont Technical College and Kansas State University, did his internship in Wichita Kansas prior to starting with Wiemann Lamphere in 1994.David accepted a partnership in 2001. The following year, David's brother Steven Roy joined the firm. Steven is a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and worked in Boston for two years before moving back to Vermont.

Services
This is probably one of the best three buildings in our portfolio, out of 145 odd projects. Wiemann-Lamphere Architects has the ability to coordinate the various design elements with the Owner's program needs as well as those of the contractor, which makes them a valuable asset to any project. The projects that they did for us involved the renovation of existing buildings for educational purposes.
