Emergency Pest Control
Emergency Pest Control, Inc. was founded in 1987 by Rusty and Rhonda Taylor. We hope that this web site will help you with information regarding pest control and how we may be able to help you. The NPMA-33 form which is used for reporting on wood destroying insects for a real estate closing has been revised.

There are several changes on the form which are more clerical in nature. The main change is the treatment recommendation section regarding termites. The bottom line is that if evidence of previous termites are observed and the house is not under a current termite service warranty a company "may" recommend it be treated.

This was a horrible wording and some entomologists and legal experts say legally a company now "should" recommend a treatment to prevent a legal issue. Hopefully the committee which revised this report will see this issue and create a new revised form, however, this is something that could take time.
Services
Rusty and Rhonda Taylor are both from the Hampton Roads area. Rusty grew up in the Portsmouth and Chesapeake area while Rhonda grew up in Hampton and York County. They met while attending James Madison University studying music. Our daughter Caitlin and her husband Rob live in Gloucester and have a son, Bobby.
We offer a variety of general pest control services. These services will help control general household pests including ants, spiders, roaches, fleas, pantry pests, crickets, silverfish, and other crawling pests which will invade the home. We can also treat for mice and rats. Our treatments range from one time services to regular monthly or quarterly treatments.
Subterranean termites generally nest in the ground and the workers come to the surface to find cellulose, a wood product, which they eat and then return to the nest to feed the others. When termites exit from the ground to find wood they build shelter tubes which they travel through. They keep the interior of these tubes damp as they need moisture to survive.
Our general pest control services are performed to help control the general crawling insects that typically can invade a home. The service is performed by treating the interior of the house, the garage and around the exterior. This service typically will help control: spiders, ants, roaches, silverfish, pantry pests and will also include baiting for mice.
We currently use Termidor, a non-repellent termiticide for treatment of termites. We occasionally also use another non-repellent, Premise foam, for use in some situations. Termidor is applied into the soil around foundation walls and under slabs and we have had excellent results in controlling termites with this newer chemical (released for use in 2000).
