Our 160 watt Mega-Ray emits about 150microwatts at 18 inches on the average. This is about the same as 9:30-10 in the morning when iguanas would naturally be sunning them selves. As it gets hotter towards the middle of the day, most reptiles escape the heat and retreat to the shade.

I should have read the reviews before ordering. Returned a bulb, in proper form, never used (tortoise passed away before it arrived), according to all of the requirements on their website and nothing. For 3 months. Nearly impossible to reach the owner. Several emails and FB messages went unanswered. Clearly they have no idea about customer service or don't care about their customers. Don't waste your money!

Like the poster above we ordered a Self Ballasted Mega-Ray 100 Watt bulb for our bearded dragon in Nov 2010. The bulb lasted approximately 1 month. After numerous phone calls, assurances that they would send out a replacement bulb, that they were getting a different manufacturer of bulbs we have yet to receive any replacement bulb, it is now the end of May 2011!! Attempts to contact Bob M have been futile as his voice mail box is full and each time you talk to a staff member your fed the same line apologizing and yet a bulb still does not ever show up on your doorstep. We had to buy another

I bought the external-ballast bulb a couple years back. It worked great, and the reptiles were happy while the bulb lasted. However, the bulb did not last as long as expected and died within the warranty period. I tried for months to contact them regarding the warranty replacement, including emails that were never answered and constant calls to their always full voice mail. At times, I actually got a hold of a human in what was a very small operation they said. They indicated they were having issues with their manufacturer and could not provide a replacement bulb at that time, but they would

They are a very small business that I was looking forward to buying from. I read good product reviews for their bulbs on a few reptile blogs.

I bought a Mega-ray 100w Self Ballasted bulb from these guys about 3-4 months ago for my bearded dragons. The bulb didn't work. So I called the number on the box and the person I talked to asserted that there was no way that the problem could have been because of them. It must have been from the bustling during the shipping process.

He was nice enough and told me that they would send me a new bulb without making me send the broken bulb back
